Thoughts on Flying Fish

We went back in March and we loved our meal there. I had the best salmon ever. I don't remember what my dh ate, but he loved it too. You won't be disappointed.

My DH always likes what he gets there & enjoys the restaurant. I have yet to have anything that I would bother eating again, including the signature red snapper (the potatos were soggy & it just didn't taste like anything ). It's never been bad but, for me, it's never been good either. The service has been so-so, nothing outrageously bad but definitely nothing good either.

However, being that nearly everyone all over the range of food tastes likes and/or loves it, I guess I've just had bad luck there. I'd go back but if I had to delete a restaurant it would be one of the first to go. For me it would not be a 'special meal' restaurant. For that I would save Citrico's, Jiko or CG for sure.

Very very good! I can't recall the name of the dish my girlfriend had but it contained a fully intact octopus about 3" long. very amusing, but she didn't eat it.

Thank you everyone for the posts! It sounds like this is the place for us. I know it's at the Boardwalk, but I don't know if it's in the hotel or on the Boardwalk. Is it close to the path that you walk to MGM?

It is not in the Boardwalk resort itself....right outside along the Boardwalk itself. Actually, when walking out of the hotel's main lobby to go to the Boardwalk, it is the first shop on your right. You won't be disappointed...enjoy!

We ate there for the first time last year and loved it. Each of us had something different and we all really enjoyed our meals. I had the potato wrapped snapper and it was wonderful!

I'm eating there in 39 days! What does everyone recommend? We're on the DDP so we'll be getting two appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Entrees:

Potato wrapped snapper
Oak grilled salmon
Char crusted steak

We ate there last night! I had the snapper and dh had the salmon. Kids had the Mickey pasta. We all shared the cheese plate and the crab cake and then the cheesecake for dessert. We like it and have been several times. It *is* pricey tho! Good thing for the DDE card!

You won't be disappointed. Being from New Orleans I've had many seafood dishes, but that snapper is probably the best fish entree I've ever had.

We're bigger fans now than we used to be, with the change in chefs. Wouldn't recommend the crab cakes, but we really enjoyed everything else we had. Here is our review with pictures:
