Our son is going to go into the playhouse at the WL one night and we thought we'd have dinner just me and my DH. He loves breweries and i was wondering if anyone had any opinon on the Big River Grill and Brewery at the BW.

Also is the dualing piano bar still there? Someone said that was a fun place but they haven't been there in a while.

Thx.

I have eaten at Big River Grill and Brewworks twice and it was great both times. I had the grilled meatloaf once and the steak another time. Very good.

When we stay at BWV, it's always our traditional arrival lunch. Love the burgers!

I've had a few serviceable lunches at Big River. It's not bad food, but it's unremarkable. I've never been for dinner, however. We usually go there when we feel like a drink and Jellyrolls isn't open yet. For a dinner on the Boardwalk, I'd sooner opt for Kouzzina or Flying Fish. Jellyrolls, by the way, is still open. It's one of the things I most anticipate about Disney vacations. It's absolutely unmissable for me.

thanks good info.

You said if Jelly Rolls isn't open yet? What time does it open?

Thx.

Jelly Rolls is alot of fun. I believe they open at 7, with music starting at 8. Here's a fan page with some good info -

Check out the tips page. Remember, no food at Jellyrolls. Just drinks, good music and fun.

We really enjoyed our visit to Big River Grille and Brewing Works. The beers were excellent, and I had a Blackened Mahi-Mahi Caesar Salad for dinner that was amazing. I posted a review on the Dis, and there is a 3 page thread about it here that includes pictures:

I hope you give it a try. If your husband likes handcrafted beers, he'll enjoy it. I also recommend trying a "Safari Amber" at the Animal Kingdom. You can get them anywhere, including the Dawa Bar in Harambe and at the Flame Tree BBQ.

I try to hit Big River at least once for lunch on each trip. I have always enjoyed the food and the selection of beers and received good service. Well worth a try if you have never been there.

We love it. Must do for each trip. Sometimes more than once.

Big Rivers food is nothing above a TGI Friday's, Applebee's, or Bennigan's... mediocre at best. If you have to eat at Big River then I'd suggest lunch over dinner. Flying Fish would be my choice at the BW. There's also great dining options at the Swan/Dolphin and YC/BC.

Jellyrolls is a lot of fun! We go multiple times each trip. That I KNOW you will enjoy :thumbsup2.

We ate there for the first time on a whim while staying at the BWV. DH got an American Kobe Steak Burger and I got a Grilled Chicken Sandwich. BOTH were yummy and I agree about the service. Our server was very attentive. We visited during the fall, we both got a pumpkin ale. It was sooooooooo good. I highly recommend it!

We returned to WDW not a month later and the memories of this place stuck in DH's head. So after the DAP Seminar, we walked over to The Boardwalk and had lunch "Take 2". Except this time, I got the burger too. Believe it or not, we had the same server as last month. It was deja vu. Once again, another great meal. :thumbsup2

We were VERY disappointed in Big River in December. We were there early, and there was hardly anybody there. After eating there, we knew why!

My I suggest just going to the bar to try the brewery sample before going to Jellyrolls?

I liked the food at BRG, but for a date night I would go somewhere else on the Boardwalk.

They do have a separate bar you can sit at without having to wait for a table.

Thanks everyone... i think we have decided to pass and maybe go somewhere else and then hit Jelly Rolls - thanks for the info for there and that there is a cover.

Although I have never tried Jellyrolls I bet it's a lot of fun. I totally agree with u on the review of Big River.
