We have been on the Magic the last 4 summers. We are not going on the west coast cruise--unless we win the lottery, but are trying RCL instead. I am thinking of doing the Dec 2 -3 night cruise with 1 day before at WDW to see the ship decorated for Christmas.
For anyone going back to 3 days after doing 7, will it be a disappoinment or feel way too rushed?
I'd love to hear from anyone who has done this. The price on that cruise isn't bad--does it fill up or is that a slow week.
thanks for any replies.
Beth

I had the same "what if's" after having been on two teriffic Magic cruises and can now say I really enjoy the 3 night (booked for our 2nd in March) cruise just as much because...........it gets you to the best part of the cruise...CC!! (Just a few days sooner). We didn't feel rushed at all, because there is always "the next time", so I'm happy to leave territories to be explored. Gotta have a reason to go again!::yes:: And, if your vacation time is limited, you have a few days before or after to visit DW. DH and I fly down 2 days before the cruise to unwind and then return back to DW for a week after the cruise.
And you know the saying..."Any Disney cruise is better than NO Disney cruise..right?
Explore new territories and enjoy!!!

I have to agree that any Disney cruise is better than no Disney cruise at all! We tried RCCL last year and hated it! I am sure it would have been fine had we not been on the Magic and Wonder five times. Enjoy every opp you can on the Disney cruise lines!:earsgirl:

Tracy, Why did you hate RCL? I am a huge Disney fan and have loved the Magic--I'm worried that RCL won't live up to what we have experienced on the Magic. We have had excellent service and I love all the disney touches. My parents did not want to fly to the west coast and our friends we are cruising with thought the west coast prices were too high--so did I, but I would have paid them.

We just did a 3-day for the first time. Like the above poster said, any cruise on DCL is better than no cruise. Actually, the 3-day we were on was quite the party sailing and after 3-days of keeping up with it, we were exhausted. I don't remember being so worn out after a 7-day and I don't remember so much activity going on so late into the night, every night, on the 7-day. We were sorry that we missed seeing the movie premier, we were on shore in Nassau and DS (10) didn't get to spend as much time in the lab as he would have liked, and we skipped 2 of the 3 shows, but, it was well worth it, the price was right and we got our cruising fix for now.

Beth A- Dh & I have sailed on RCCL and found it to be very good. It is a differnet experience than Disney, but very enjoyable. RCCL is a bit more adult oriented. We felt the food on RCCL was better that DCL. The only thing we felt that was really lacking on RCCL was the entertainment. No one does stage shows like Disney! Don't worry you will have a great time!

Rcl is a different experience than disney so if you go one trying to see how they compare you might be disappointed. Go on with a positive attitude that it is a new experience and you will have fun!

Beth A -

Our family (ranging in age from 5 to 55) did not enjoy the 3-day cruise on the Wonder after doing several 7 day Magic cruises. We did one day before at DW.

We cruised in 1/02 on the Magic and were given coupons for the 3 day for $99 per person for same category stateroom to use in the fall of 2002.

In our opinion we did feel a little rushed. It felt like we had just unpacked when it was time to pack again.

We also missed a lot of the activities that are on the Magic that are not on the Wonder (character breakfast, programming for adults, etc.). But I think we went with urealistic expectations. We were expecting the same activities to be available.

I still might do a 3 or 4-day Wonder cruise just to see the ship decorated for Christmas if we could get a good price.

Beth,
We were so used to the great customer service and attention we rec'd on Disney. you know...announcing you when you walk on the ship, little things like that. As the above poster said...have a good attitude and if you are with the people you love, you can't help but have a good time. Our room was nice on RCCL, but I felt the food on the Magic was much better. If you notice, I don't even include the RCCL in my signature. I would rather just forget about the money I spent there instead of with Disney! I guess my heart was on the other ship!
Have a great time and I would love to know how it went!
Take care,
