We just sailed on the 1/13/05 Wonder. We did the 7 day Eastern in 2003. Not long ago someone was asking if having been on the 7 day first puts a damper on the shorter sailings. If I am completely honest, I have to say that it does. Don't get me wrong, we had no catastrophes, no rude CM interaction--it just wasn't as "magical" as the 7 day. Things felt too rushed and there was no possible way to enjoy all of the great ameneties of the ship. Also, --and I realize it is because they see twice as many passengers a week--the Wonder really is much more worn than the Magic.

We had a nice trip and a lot of fun, but I think we will stick to the 7 day sailing with DCL.

3-day is short and sweet...a perfect weekend respite for us Floridians since no air travel is required....In fact, with the FL res discount, the cruise is about equal in cost to a 3 day stay in a mid-range Disney hotel, 2 day pass to the parks, and food....

I think any cruise shorter than 7 days leaves you in the position to be packing and putting your luggage out by 11 pm just when you have gotten settled in. Is the Wonder more "worn" than the Magic? I guess I'll make my observation like that in April. Yes, it is true that twice as many people are on the Wonder, but does that mean that people put more wear and tear on a ship in the first 3-4 days of a cruise than days 5-7? Because in each week, wouldn't it be true that you have 7 days x the number of passengers, the only difference being on the Wonder the names change on Thursday? And on the Magic Eastern, with three days at sea plus Saturday in port, dont you actually have less time in the course of a week for people to go ashore and not put wear on the ship. So more opportunity for wear on the Magic? Just questions--I havent done a study of it.

We just did our first 7 day Western on the Magic and want to do an Eastern. I loved getting to know our servers and stateroom host. I would feel rushed too I think. Isn't it almost as expensive to take a 4 day as a 7 day?

The Magic is a year older than the Wonder....Thus, more passengers have sailed on the Magic....Both are in immaculate condition....

Folks who can't afford a 7 night cruise like me , we are happy with the 3/4 night cruise. We very much enjoyed our 3 night last Dec, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. If we didn't have to pay the high cost of the air fare, then we would probably would try a 7 nighter. Yes.. 3/4 night is sweet..and yes..it's short.

Then of course you have "my group" the disney fans who are sailing to just experience another side of disney. We aren't really "into" cruising all that much. The 3 day gives you a nice beach break, ocean cruise and time to rest up for the rest of our time at wdw. :wizard:

I completly understand what your saying Fantasia. We drove 15 hrs. to save on airfare. $800 for airfare or $100 in gas $800 for airfare or $100 in gas. Not hard for us to decide to drive it. I know that you are further though but this was the only way we could do the 7 nighter. :D
