Thoughts on 2 Credit Meals

My Disney Family is heading to The World in June. We have Free Dining which is a nice deal for my family of 5. I have a couple of questions that I am seeking opinions on before my 180 day mark for ressies..

1. Should I pay OOP for Hoop De Doo Revue? And save the two credits?
2. Should I pay OOP for CRT Breakfast? And save the two credits?

CRT is the cheaper of the two meals to pay OOP for. We are going to do both regardless......

Other desired ressies for us are: SciFi Theater, Crystal Palace

We will be at POR......if we pay OOP for one of the two above I will have three credits left. Any suggestions???

If you're going to pay OOP, definately pay OOP for the cheapest. To answer whether you SHOULD, depends on how many TS meals you want to do. If you want more than however many nights you're staying, you'll need to pay OOP, so it's just whatever works for your family. You could think about paying OOP for just one TS (whichever's cheapest) and have that extra credit, OR if you're wanting the 2 extra, it may even be cheaper to pay OOP for the 2 cheapest meals instead of one of the siggies. Check menus and prices and just see what the cheapest route would be. Happy Planning!!

Pay for the cheaper one OOP. You might even consider both OOP if the per credit doesn't seem to be a good deal on DDP.

This may not work for you but sometimes it is best to keep putting off paying OOP. You never know when you might decide to skip an ADR. Things happen and then you are stuck with extra credits. Good luck.

Would you really like to do HDDR and CRT? I ask because we really wanted to do HDDR and the Luau this upcoming trip. When I priced everything out it was cheaper for us to upgrade to the Deluxe Plan from Free Dining rather than pay OOP...that gave us a boatload of additional meal credits that can be used to book the 2 T/S places, still have plenty of credits left over to use either for T/S or C/S, plus the refillable mugs.

Just a thought.

Figure out all of your ADRs. Compare the number of required credits to the number of credits you'll have. Figure out the cheapest credits and pay for those OOP.

I do agree that I prefer to keep the OOP meals for the end of the trip because you never know if you'll need or want to cancel for any reason. If you've already paid OOP for the planned OOP meals then you'll then have extra credits to figure out how to use.

I agree with this poster--it is definitely worth looking into upgrading. It may be less than you think and would give you more dining options. Good luck!

I don't think CRT breakfast is a good use of 2 TS credits-I am going to pay OOP for it and save my TS credits. 2 TS dinners will be a better use of those credits.
While I'd like to save the OOP meal until later in the trip, with CRT you kind of have to take what you can get. I was able to get a 9:20 ressie on our first full day but couldn't get ANYTHING any other time over MLK weekend so the decision was made for me.

On our last trip I just had the regular dining plan, normally we do deluxe so that we have a character breakfast each day, then lunch and a dinner.
This time we still wanted to do some character breakfasts so I planned on paying OOP for two of them. I knew the prices ahead of time, but once we were there I just couldnt see spending +50$ for a breakfast OOP plus tip so we used our TS credit. I knew I'd be giving up a dinner by using it for breakfast but i just couldnt pay that outrageous price for what we ate. We ended up using a QS for that dinner instead, at POP, and I had a delicious chicken alfredo w/ breadstick and a giant sundae, so i was happy. We decided to skip the other character breakfast and go to the waterpark b/c i didnt want to pay OOP.

We used our two TS credits for the HDDR and then had a pizza night to make up for the missing meal. The kids liked it so much that we have a pizza night on each trip.
On the regular plan we really had more than enough food so you won't miss much paying OOP for dinner one night.
