We just got back Saturday night from a week at WDW. The crowds were managable if you used FP and knew your way around. Just a few random observations:
1. Want to ride Soarin? Be there early and get a FP. FP were gone by noon both days we were at Epcot and the standby line was up to 2 hours long at times.
2. Smokers! Very few observe the smoking areas and have no qualms about lighting up anywhere. Also, maybe its just me because when I smell smoke I tend to look around to see who is smoking. On four seperate occasions I noticed something really wierd. The offender had smaller children and in all four of these cases the smoker was carrying a pair of 3D glasses. Oh and all four times we were no where near a 3D ride. The first was in line for our bus back to All Star Music from MK. Mom and two kids, she's on the phone, smoking, yelling at the kids between puffs and talking. She has matching tatoos on her ankle, and brest which is shown off well in her low cut shirt. She is carrying two pairs of 3D glasses from the PhilharMagic show. Now I'm not suggesting a link between smoking and ripping off 3D glasses but hey if the can't read the no smoking signs, then maybe thay can't read the leave glasses here signs.
3. You want to eat at a sit down resturant, you better have ADR's. We had three, Alfredos, CP and Wolfgang Pucks downstairs. In all three cases we were seated in less than five minutes of showing up. On the first day at MK we thought ' what the heck we'll try Tony's without ADR's. In the past we could always get a table in 30 to 40 minutes. No Way at 6:00 they said they could get us in at 9:30 if we wanted to come back. Cosmic Rays here we come.
4. The magic is still there but you have to slow down to see it. We took the opportunity this trip to go on rides and attractions we have not done for a while, Hall of Presidents, COP, Small World, Snow White. We really enjoyed them and they really help add to the whole magic of Magic Kingdom.
5. On EMH nights at AK it's really, really dark. We went there for EMH to really get the Thanksgiving pin but decided to ride Primevil Whirl and Dinosaur. We rode the whirl and Dinosaur was broke down so after a bar-b-que dinner we headed back to the resort.
6. CP buffet for Thanksgiving was wonderful and I would highly reccommend it to anyone. Turkey, roast chicken, prime rib, salmon, peel and eat shrimp, mussels, and all the sides, with seven or eight desert choices. $24.99 with drink included. Well worth the money.
Overall it was a great trip and we really enjoyed it, it just seems that it was way to short, but then it always does.
