That gives me hope, so thank you! We have much more availability to travel so perhaps I'm thinking about this all wrong. Back in 2008 it was hard to get BWV or BCV but I had kids in school then too. I too believe it's a no-brainer Kat, so thanks for your post! It's changing gears completely that had me wondering if it was the right decision. Ugh I wish I weren't so indecisive! BUT, I'm now confident this is the right choice! Not only that, but it's the company I've read rave reviews on and are referred by Disney, so I also feel confidently it will pass ROFR!

Flexibility makes it much easier to stay at different resorts so you have that as a plus now. BCV is still more difficult for studios than BWV assuming studios are what you are looking for but BWV should be doable and BCV something to keep an eye out for. The difference with not owning there for us is just that it's a nice when we get it thing but really we like all the resorts and enjoy moving around to different ones. But yes, we still "luck" into stays there. If it's 1BR's you plan on then BWV becomes almost a definite for pool/garden view and BCV very possible at certain times. Waitlists also can work. The online booking tool allows you to see when the availability is too vs back in 2008 when you would have just been relying on asking MS about particular dates and them responding yes or no.

Buy where you won't be disappointed if you can't get something else. Availability has gotten worse as additional members are being added.

Yep - don't buy someplace you never want to stay at. It might work with flexibility but might not. Definitely good to buy someplace you're ok with and then have fun seeing what else is available and trying different places.

If BCV had 10 more years I'd but it for a lot more money. I adore it and I LOVE the refresh! But, I just cant justify the 2042. I have tried but cant.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. It really depends on your situation. If you have younger kids, BCV is great, but has no view. If its older or no kids, BWV is awesome. We fall into the group with college age kids, so BWV is perfect for us. In the end, I still believe in the buy where you want to stay concept.

I also think that either is great. We bought BCV, but our first stay as DVC owners was at BWV. I loved everything about it. I love that it has standard rooms, which will help stretch your points.

Hi everyone, I've been so wishy washy the last few weeks after I finally decided it was the right time to buy DVC again (had to sell after divorce 7 years ago).

First it was OKW, then SSR... DEFINITELY SSR, then wait... Beach Club, but then back to SSR...etc...etc.

So I got what I consider a good contract on BCV. Slightly higher than I wanted to pay, but far less per point that other listings. So I'm SUPER EXCITED right? Then I see a BWV for $15 less per point... ugh.

Please tell me what you think the pros/cons are of each and help me make a decision... Please help! Thanks!
IMO BWV is a far better value than BCV even at the same price but when you factor in the larger contract availability, price difference and the standard view the real long term price difference is quite substantial. The long term difference in 200 points is likely somewhere in the $3-4K range in todays dollars and about 20-25% higher for BCV. People talk about the difficulty of getting standard view at BWV which can be true but BCV is more difficult to reserve in general than BWV. For those where DVC makes sense (pay cash, reserve ahead, OK with compromises, etc) the difference likely isn't enough to make a purchase that will make them miserable every time they stay though, one just needs to know that up front likely buying at VGF.

Such great responses!! Thanks so much! After hemming and hawing back and forth, I lost out on one of the contracts.....BWV which turned out to be a huge blessing!! As it turns out...I Was able to find a loaded contract @ OKW for a steal!! OKW & SSR are faves and I'm not indecisive any longer !! Contract signed & done! FROM $115 to $65 per point...very happy

Congrats! I think $65 is super reasonable and if you're happy at set okw, you can take a shot at bwv and bcc at the 7mo mark (totally doable during certain times)!

Great price! Glad you found a contract that you love!

Ugh- I don't want to hear that!!! I just submitted a similiar BWV contract but DecUY
50/50... You just never know. Even if they do buy it back, submit another anyway and eventually one will go through. Don't pay extra just to avoid that!

Thank you all for your valuable insight! I'm terribly indecisive to begin with, so this has been a struggle! I pondered all night and decided that the price difference between those two was negligible so decided to go with BCV. Low and behold, the reseller I wanted to work with (not the one with the BCV & BWV contracts) called me with a brand new listing she thought I'd be interested in. It was lower on my list of desired properties, but the price and details were something she thought I'd consider. After she mentioned OKW (4th on my list) I immediately thought I wouldn't be interested. However, it was loaded with points, super low price and seller wasn't even charging the FULL 2016 points that were included. Not to mention is was $9,000 LESS than the BCV contract I was pondering which was stripped until 2018 and was more points that I really wanted.

I fully realize not owning at either BCV or BWV will effectively mean I won't be able to stay there, but I'm perfectly happy with SSR & OKW and feel like it's the better option in all respects. Here's my situation... let me know your thoughts please

BCV - 150pts March UY - no points until 2018 $107pp = $16500 total cost (approx.)
BWV - 150pts May UY - 13 2017 pts - 150 2018 pts $89pp = $14500 total cost (approx.)
OKW - 100pts March UY - 100 2016 pts - 100 2017 pts - 100 2018 pts @ $65pp = $7700 total cost (approx.)
Depends on when you go - we frequently use our OKW points to stay a week at BWV in May.

Thank you! Just read the entire ROFR thread and probably going to be sweating it. Although my guide wasn't at all concerned when I asked. Fingers crossed!
