Those with Southwest Experience....

We've always flown to Disney via Southwest. They have the best deals and the flights (except for last September's) have always been on-time and smooth. After each time I booked, I'd watch the prices. If they went down enough, I'd re-book it and get a credit.

Now, if I can find out why there are no morning (non-stop) flights on the day we leave, I'll be happy. We're booking the Flight in about a Week. Hmph.

Yes!

For one example, I am flying PIT to Nashville in August. Flight down was $97 - pretty darn good. A month later it was up to $250!!!! Now it's down to $127. Like others have said you'll get the credit back which is nice even if you do have to use it in a year.

Another example - we booked PIT to MCO in December for about $240 RT, pretty good in my opinion so we took it. Now prices dropped to $89 per way or $178 per person RT.. Even better! Although now I'm stuck with some credit $$ I don't know if we'll use because it dropped that much.

Just curious - SW is accepting ressies through November 4 right now, so how did you book a December flight?

Sorry, I meant that we booked IN December for this April. (Even I had to go back and read that, haha!)

Keep checking and checking!

I booked my flight a few months out from my trip and then re-booked two or three more times for lower priced flights! The prices did go up and down... Make sure you look at both legs of your trip because sometimes only one of the flights changed prices.

I was using points and I was originally using 80k points for 4 round trip tickets and the flight I booked at the end was 50k!

Have you ever known Southwest prices to go up and then back down? I have been watching flights for October, but really wasn't quite ready to book yet until we finalize our plans, but I notice a lot of the flights I was watching have gone WAY up! Since it is still 7 months out, can I be hopeful that they will go back down some before then or will they just continue to go up?

Thanks, everyone. I guess I will just keep checking. Went ahead and booked our flights TO Orlando this morning, and by this evening they had gone up $21/pp! May have to go ahead and book return flights, too, as I'm afraid trying to come home the day before Columbus Day, they will just go up more. Just having a hard time wanting to pay $221/pp for a return flight when southwest is usually so much cheaper. And, I'm flexible coming home, either that Sunday or Monday, and Monday is just a bit cheaper, so may book that day, and if Sunday finally goes down, change it to Sunday.

If you can shift your trip back a day at all, the flights Saturday may be a bit cheaper.

Right now, the Saturday price is the same as the Sunday- I'm willing to switch Sat-Sat, as that was our original plan, we switched to Sunday due to cheaper price

I am so thankful that I found this thread because I didn't realize that this was an option! We are flying from PIT to MCO in June and when I looked online the price difference was $100 for the 5 of us. I was unsure on how to make the change online so I called the airline and they were able to get the new prices for us. However, we only received a credit for $55.00 instead of the $100.00 that the website was showing. She quoted the new seat prices and they matched what the website was showing. Does anyone have an idea as to why there would be a $45.00 difference in price?

Thanks!
