where do you stay?

One of the regular responses I read is "well we dont use our room for anything other than sleeping"

We will be going with 2 young kids who require naps and have a fairly early bedtime 7pm pacific time). SO, DH and I will be spending time in the room, "other than to sleep"

We would like to stay within walking distance for ease to get back for nap time.

Where/What are your suggestions for hotels???

try desert inn or camolot inn or hojos if you can get the ent rate. we use our room i loved camolot inn last year and i heard so many good things about desert inn right across the cross walk. i was staying there till hojos ent rate turned up for this years trip.

I recommend Desert Inn if you can get a suite room. There are TVs in each room, so you can put the kids down and adults don't have to go right to sleep. It is right accross the street, so easy walking distance if you want to come back for naps too.

We've stayed at the DLH three times, and once at the PPH.

We love the pool area at the DLH, and my kids (6 and 2yo on our first trip) love going to the pool daily. They also love the glow-in-the-dark pixiedust on the walls. I was stunned that my older boy noticed every little piece of room theming, including the wall sconces, wallpaper in the bathroom, the park map on the armoire, and the park scenes on the bedspread. :rotfl:

They also love staying in the room to watch the Disney channel ("Guys! We're in Disneyland, let's go to the park, not watch TV!") :sad2:

My younger son and I stayed at the PPH last February (he was 3yo then), which has less theming. We probably stayed in the room less than we typically do, really just for nap and night-time sleeping.

We stayed at HoJo's park view and enjoyed being in our room. We watched the fireworks each night from there vs the park. Much better IMO.

Thank you all

It is funny that so far my opinions of hotels from this board (based on the "we dont spend time in our room") has not changed.

So far we have a parlor suite reserved at Desert Inn at $99/night.

Currently Disboard rates at Hojo would be $93/night for NON disney view, not convinced yet that it is worth the extra wak to change. My only debate is outside pool/water playground for end of April vs indoor pool.

Now, however if/when Entertainment rate is available we are likelly to switch...unless I get swayed befor hand that the disntance will make all the dirference.

any one else have input??

We either say onsite, or across at the Tropiciana. We didn't personally care for hojo's. We'd consider staying at the Desert Inn too.

Because we are travelling with little ones who need naps I'm staying at GCH because it is the closest and while they are sleeping I can slip out the room and back to DCA for some single rider Screaming or GRR! :thumbsup2
