Those going to be at Disney on NYE

We will be at DHS....again!

We are doing a fireworks cruise for the NYE MK on the 30th.

I'm totally jealous. Not this year for us. Last year we spent the morning in DS, then were in bed by 9PM. Pretty lame for NYE, but the next day we hit Epcot at rope drop and had the park to ourselves (I'm sure the combination of late night on NYE and drizzle kept plenty of people away).

We'll be at MK on the 30th and Epcot on the 31st! We're staying at BWV!

I have been twice and always just watched fireworks from the Contemporary. Daughter and her friend will be there (staying at SSR), just booked yesterday! Was kind of shocked I could get anything (studio) this late in the game. But they are on a HUGE budget, only going to be going to the parks one day - probably New Years Day, she wants to go over to the CR to watch the fireworks again, but does anyone have other suggestions? Two 19 year olds, so staying out late won't be an issue!!

Also - cheap eats!!! suggestions? I'm thinking just quick service locations at the resorts, I assume getting a reservatation will be impossible, so I'm not even going to try!

MK for us. We did HS last year and Epcot the year before so now we feel like qualified troopers, ready for whatever crowds we have to face. Staying at BLT so it's a quick jaunt home if it doesn't go well.

We'll be there on the 30th and 31st as well. Looks like MK on the 30th and Epcot on the 31st. My only experience with crowds of this size was when I was a MK cast member over the 4th of July several years ago. We are a little scared, but also excited. (We're staying at BLT in case the parks don't work out and we still want to see fireworks.) ;)

I am not sure where we will be... maybe sleeping at OKW??? In the past we've done EPCOT, and MK, then watched the fireworks from the beach at the Poly. Not sure about this year. Possibly the Studios? I am not usually this undecided!:):hippie:

We'll be waving from our balcony at BLT! We've been at WDW on New Year's Eve for the past 3 years, and the crowds really are "too much" for us--even EPCOT is filled with wall-to-wall people (I've heard DHS isn't that bad). After getting our free "party favors" from EPCOT, we love watching the fireworks from our BLT balcony and toasting in the new year!!!:woohoo:

We're at the Beach Club so dinner at the Yachtsman and fireworks at Epcot from the bridge......

So... was it what you thought it would be?

We loved walking back to BCV and being able to see the fireworks at DHS! That's certainly a welcome into the new year. And certainly a good vote for watching it from the bridge which we almost did because the kiddo was so tired!

For us, it was better than our first time 2 years ago. DH and I realized that we didn't have to stay in Epcot with the crowd. We entered the park around 11:30, walked to the bridge where we usually see Illuminations, and waited about 5 minutes and voila! Then we turned around and watched the high fireworks from DHS. DS and DGD were at DHS and they stayed through the extra Magic hours there. DDiL and 2 other DGC were back at BWV. We had a standard view 2 bedroom there which had a great view of the Epcot fireworks, so DDiL got to enjoy them too!

We all were at the MK for their preview on the 30th, and that was great! There we saw Holiday Wishes, the Main Street Electrical Parade and finally the great NYE fireworks.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!:goodvibes

That's awesome Bobbi! I wonder how the folks who went to MK fared... I noticed that the park was closed when I arrived at 1pm on NYE. But we were there today, and the lines for the rides weren't that bad.

Happy New Year!

Just an update, my DD got to SSR around 4:00 NYE, checked into SSR, hightailed it to the MK no wait for Splash, went on twice, no wait for Pirates, 20 minutes for Haunted Mansion, 20 minutes for Pirates, was given fastpasses for Space!! Ate, walked around, did a few more rides, cant rememner exactly

Around 11:30pm, left the park headed to the front lawn of the CR, watched the fireworks! loved it. Left on a bus to DHS, walked onto Tower of Terror, did a few others, again right place at the right time, was handed two fast passes for Rockin Roller Coaster!! home in bed by 4:00am!!

NYDay, headed to animal kingdom, bye 9:00am, had gone on EVerest twice! walked onto the safari, had breakfast, spent some more time, back to room for a mini nap, over to Epcot saw alot, watched the Wisconsin game at ESPN, back to room for a catnap, and then DDT for the evening, hung out at The Blues place - loved it. out of room by 11:00 yesterday, drove to Wellington, and today, slept till noon!!!! ;)

And here i was worried about the crowds, I am in shock as to all they did!!!
