When do you normally book? My mother in law will be joining us in Oct she lives in a smalll city in Oregon. They have an airport so we would love if we can get a flight out of there. We are dealing with price and length of the flying since she can't be flying for 11 plus hours. She wouldn't enjoy disney at that point. She comes east as often as she can and we go west....but I am wondering if looking now here in May is even a good idea or wait a little bit longer for better time and price.

We're also in Oregon and I've already started looking for our trip in January. Our last trip I booked 7 months out--to get the combination of flights/price/seats that we wanted. I realize seats can change, but fortunately they didn't.

It really depends. If the price is right on a nonstop I book when I want.

I also tend to use Alaska Air, which gives you credit if the price stops after you book (like southwest but imo easier).
