Thomas the Tank Engine helps autistic kids identify emotions

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect), a nonprofit that provides services to people diagnosed with the developmental disorder, unveiled the game on its Web site Tuesday.

The game asks players to recognize which engine has a sad face, or which is happy or angry.

There's a DVD series called "the Transporters" that was developed in Great Britain. I just ordered it for our 3 yr old. It looks like a knockoff of Thomas, but the emphasis is on getting the kids to recognize the facial expressions of the characters, ie, happy, sad, etc. I wonder what age group the "Thomas" game is geared toward. I'll have to google it, thanks!
