im thinking about getting one of these for our trip to DLP, but is there anything i should worry about?
are there many atm's about DLP?
i dont want to use it in the shops or resturants, i would rather draw the cash out an atm and use it.
Any good and bad points about them?

These cards charge you to withdraw your money so it might just be worth taking the majority of your money in cash and storing it in the hotel lockers/safety deposit boxes
The Thomas Cook card charges 2E per withdrawel which seems a bit steep to me personally (I have the leaflet infront of me because I was considering one haha) so you'd be better off just paying for things on the card, like meals etc to not incur the charge.
The only advantage I see is that you can have a free additional card to leave at home, so someone in the UK could add more money to it instantly in the case of an emergancy.

Maybe it would be an idea to take the majority in cash and put some on the card, in the knowledge that if you wanted to access it as cash then you would be charged?

I got one, put about a 1/3 of our cash on it.

My approach is to use it as an alternative to carrying a large bundle of cash around - when our cash runs out, I do One withdrawal on the card (or use it like you would any credit card etc of course) to minimise fees.

Whether this ends up being practical, I'll find out....

If you use it to pay in the shop like you would a debit or credit card when abroad there is no charge so I would do this as opposecd to withdraw unless you are withdrawing it all in one go so just have one withdraw charge. It allows you to withdraw £700 a day
