Where may I ask was the information found to the fact that the MK will not close to sweep out the day guests? I too bought tix for Sept 29. This is a surprise for my DD B-Day which happens to be that exact day. I better not have wasted my money only to find out I could have gotten in for free. If Disney is that stupid to change what they have been doing for years than they are going to get alot of irate customers on their hands wanting their money refunded. Until I see concrete evidence from one of the numerous emails sent, I will not get my panties all twisted out of shape. :teeth:

This is based on a couple of things....
1. The park hours on disneyworld.com have changed from a closing of 6pm to a closing of 7pm....therefore eliminating the in between hour typically used for sweeping out guests and decorating the park
2. People are calling Disney and they are getting conflicting reports:
~MK will be closing at 7pm as the website states
~MK will be closing at 6pm and the website is incorrect (although it seems strange that it's been "incorrect" for awhile now and no one has changed it)
~Disney has not made up its mind what time MK will close

the park closes about an hour (or it might be two) before the party starts on those days- this way the regular guests have enough time to finish their shopping and the cast has time to set up for the MNSSHP. trust me when i say that disney isn't cheating anyone out of their money and that the way they run the opening of the parks/tickets has been the same for years and it works with out any major flaws.

You might want to read through the many posts that show there is a reason why people are more up in arms about it this year....

The hours being changed from 6 to 7 did send up red flags, but many reliable sources are stating that they have good info from Disney that the park will indeed remain open until 7 with 'an announcement' being made to tell day guests that they should leave then. Sources include the WDW Today Podcast (Mike Scopa, correct?) and others known to consistently have reputable inside information. So, yeah, it's not just a bunch of people getting up in arms without anything to base it on.

I agree about not getting "up in arms" at this point. With all the threat of people asking for refunds and the many, many e-mails, snail mails and phone calls regarding this issue I just don't see WDW keeping the MK open till 7 pm. I have never been before and we just purchased tickets for MNSSHP for 10/16 and I am going to give WDW a chance to make good before I react. ;)

Do we really need yet another thread about how party ticket holders shouldn't get the panties in a twist over this? :confused3

How would you feel if you paid out extra money to go to MNSSHP and found out that you could have just stayed using your day pass??? As the old saying goes, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free???"

But what if you didn't find out that you could have stayed for free? What if you just found out that you could have stayed until 7:00, instead of staying until 6:00? What if people took the information about the extra hour and decided that meant people could stay all night, posted about it on the DIS and started a phone and email campaign?

How would you feel then?

I think they were refering to the other 10 threads about the same thing .Not that it's wrong as a topic just that it's being discussed to death and back .

I notice that they are doing the same thing during December for MVMCP. The park closing is at 7:00 and MVMCP starts at 7:00.
It will be interesting to see how this all works out with MNSSHP.

The Disney CM that I spoke with stated they would not be closing the park early, they would make an announcement and hope that people who didn't purchase tickets were honest and left the park.....how many people do you think are going to stay????

I personally hope we are making a mountain out of a mole hill....but this is the first MNSSHP I have been to and I don't want it ruined!

I think you misunderstood my post. I'm a MNSSHP/MVMCP party goer who IS annoyed by this 'rumor' and I'm one of those who does have their "panties in a twist" over this and I also emailed Disney about it.

I was wondering why we need yet another thread by someone telling us NOT to get our panties in a twist? What's the point? The OP could have just added his opinion/post to one of the other threads on this subject rather then making yet another "why get upset" threads.

So I'm on your side, eblack0409. :wave2:

I am so sorry that I started another thread and it really bothered you. But that's your problem not mine!

The reason I started this thread was because I wanted clarity as to where the information was coming from that WDW was not closing early. I felt that all the other threads made it sound like a rumour. I could not find the information anywhere. Thanks to Mariposa, who by the way, mentioned on this thread, that the WDW website had changed their hours. As well the WDW Today Podcast had mentioned it. If Mariposa had not informed me, I would have still thought this all was just a rumour spreading out of control.

As for my panties there are not in a twist and will not get into a twist because I am not up in arms about this whole situation. If you had read my OP properly I had said...."Until I see concrete evidence from one of the numerous emails sent, I WILL NOT get my panties all twisted out of shape." If other people are upset than that is fine. I just am not at this point.

Hopefully WDW will realize they made a mistake and hopefully they will correct it. If it doesn't get corrected then I will go on vacation and enjoy my vacation and just go with the flow. I'll see what happens when we go to MNSSHP and if things don't sit right with me than I will deal with it then.

Sorry, I am now done having to explain myself!! :rolleyes1

Yes I will be upset if the park doesn't close and non-paying guests get to enjoy the parades and the other perks. Hopefully WDW will realize they made a mistake and hopefully they will correct it. If it doesn't get corrected then I will go on vacation and enjoy my vacation and just go with the flow. I'll see what happens when we go to MNSSHP and if things don't sit right with me than I will deal with it then.

Too funny! I didn't not accuse you of getting your panties in a twist. I guess you didn't read my post carefully.

As for your thread, I read it quite clearly. And I really don't have a problem so no worries. Just posting my opinion as you did.

You could have just added your comments to the other 3 -4 threads on this subject or just read them carefully and you would have gotten your answer. Oh well.

When people hear something from a CM that sounds ridiculous, the CM is almost always wrong. I wouldn't go stressing about a ruined vacation just yet.

I think it is wise for people to be up in arms about this situation now. If the 7pm closing is true, what good is having people complain when the MNSSHP gets in full swing? Isn't it better to be proactive about a potential probelm, rather than wait it out and be disappointed later? I am hoping the 7pm park closing will turn out to be a misprint. I hope someone gets a response from WDW soon so we can put our minds at ease.

I went to MNSSHP last year and there was no time between closing and when the party started. We went to Main Street and showed our party tickets and received a wristband. After the official closing time of the park, the ride operators checked for wristbands and I saw them turn people away who did not have wristbands. I thought this worked well, I would rather be able to stay in the park instead of having to leave, find something to do for an hour and reenter.

Actually, every single night there was a MNSSHP in 2005 the MK closed at 6 pm to day guests and the party "officially" started at 7pm. This allowed them to sequester the guests that arrived early in one land while the swept the rest of the park for day guests. This year, however, they'll be closing at 7 and won't have that hour.

I will sit back and wait for the 'concrete' evidence as given by those early party goers. That's the only thing I'm going to believe. Disney CM's tend to give different answers. We have already heard reports of CMs saying...A. the park will be closed early and 'swept' B. the park will close at 7, the party will start at 7. people will be honest and leave C. gee, I'm not sure

So, what will happen? Who knows. I'm just glad I'm not planning on attending until Oct 23 or 24. I have lots of time to sit and read how others have fared in Sept and early Oct. If the reports come back saying that there have been a ton of unwristbanded people in the park, for the 'hard ticketed party' then I most likely won't buy tickets. We like to do the special parade, fireworks, decorations..trick or treat. WE don't use the parties for riding the attractions. So, if someone can stay in the park for free, but not ride the rides, why would we pay? No way am I paying $40 (or so) to stand behind a bunch of people who are sitting on the curb and haven't paid a penny, to watch the Halloween parade!!!

Sure, there are always going to be some people that get missed in the general park sweep, but the current mentality could lead to huge numbers of people remaining behind.
