Any details of the fire, what caused it and extent of damage?

Nope, no idea. The fire could have been months or weeks ago. The repair could also have been weeks ago. This was just the construction permit filing.

Actually, i had to cut a piece of the gasket in the dishwasher that was charred from being in contact with the heating element and tuck it back up where it was supposed to be. Maybe it was a similar problem.

I wasn't in that cabin, of course

Anyway, i left a note for housekeeping about it when we left.
