My husband and I watched two DVDs over the weekend. Here are my reviews...in case anyone is interested.:)

Friday night we watched "Did You hear About the Morgans?".
I knew by reading the summary of the movie and seeing the trailers, that it was a movie I would like, but it was better than I had thought it would be, which was a pleasant surprise. I love Hugh Grant anyway, and he didn't disappoint, and neither did Sarah Jessica Parker. The supporting characters were also very good!

The movie kept up a fast pace and had some very funny lines.:rotfl: It wasn't a movie that only has a few funny scenes that are shown in the trailer. I kept trying to guess the way the movie was going to end because I could see how it could go in several different directions, and I was surprised right up to the end. The plot kind of took you where you thought it might go, but then it didn't. That made it a better than average movie. Hope that makes sense! We both enjoyed it.

Saturday night we watched "Everybody's Fine".
This movie was not AT ALL what I thought it would be! The cover of the DVD shows four smiling, very happy people, and the four pictures on the back cover again show happy, loving families. Even reading the description, I figured it would be a somewhat funny movie about family life and families reconnecting with one another.

OMG! It was SO heartbreaking and depressing!:confused: Everybody WASN'T fine! I don't think I've ever cried so much throughout a movie. Emotionally, it just struck me so hard.:sad2: I kept turning to my husband and saying "can it get any more depressing!?!?!". I could cry just thinking about it! Having said that, it WAS a good movie and it did redeem itself in the end.

This was one of the most depressing movies I've ever watched, but it's true to life and it does make one think about family. If you have kids, as soon as you're done watching the movie, you'll want to tell them, phone them or text them immediately, to let them know how proud you are of them and how you want them to do what makes them happy in life. Well, it certainly made ME want to do that!

Robert De Niro was perfect in his role as the dad.:) Everyone else was good as well. Very good movie, but be prepared with several boxes of tissues!

I watched Everybody's Fine a few weeks ago and thought the same thing! It was so not what I expected it to be. I just got from Netflix the other day Did You Hear About the Morgans. I usually like movies like this, so I am looking foward to seeing it.

I actually went to see the Bounty Hunter this weekend and it was better than I thought it was going to be.

I'm feeling cranky tonight and DH "deserted" ;) me to work some overtime at work, so I might buy Precious OnDemand tonight. :snooty:

I'd also like to see Everybody's Fine as well!

So, it's not just me!:rotfl:

I dropped my husband off at the airport this morning. He'll be gone all week on business, so tonight I'm going to settle in and watch the Blind Side. Just me, the kitty and a bowl of popcorn. Looking forward to a quiet night with a movie, and if it makes me cry, nobody will look at me like I'm crazy!:rotfl:

DH and I saw it in the theater - and we walked out of there like WTH?! I thought it was supposed to be funny!!
It was really good but soooo not what we expected from the trailer even.
I definitely bawled during it!

I hope you're not looking to be cheered up!

Great movie... and uplifting in a Slumdog Millionaire way, but definitely not cheerful!!!

You might want to take a break then and NOT watch The Blind Side tonight. I needed a nap after that movie. Hope you have tissues left over.
