All weekend I've been thinking about our trip last year - we were in WDW this time last year, and while I was reading my Passporter notes, with Spectro playing in the background, and my Minnie ears on......I realised that on this day last year 5th July 2003 - I tried Mission:Space for the very first time......and I wasn't sick!! It hadn't officially opened - only open for about an horu each time. I can still remember how excited I felt about it. :hyper: :hyper:

Just thought I'd share my 'saddo' momemnt with you all!!;) ('cos I know you'll understand......LOL)

Cath,

It is sad thinking about it,that doesn't make you a saddo!

The years when I went every other year, the 'other' year was intolerable for me::yes::

I am the Queen of the "This time last year" Game!

My friend at work who sits at the desk next to me play it sometimes when we get out out diaries and reminisce. I am also a fan of "this time next year" ha ha

Am I the biggest saddo in here!!??::yes::

YOU ARE JUST LIKE US!!! WE ALWAYS DO A DIARY, WE KEEP POSTCARDS AND RECEIPTS AS WELL AND AT THE MOMENT OUR 2003 DIARY IS BY OUR BED AND WE READ WHAT WE WERE DOING THIS TIME LAST YEAR AS WELL!! WE WERE THERE THE SAME TIME AS SCOTTISH MALEVOLENT AND HAD THE MOST FANTASTIC TIME.
THIS TIME OF YEAR WHEN WE HAVE A WARM DAY, WHEN I FIRST STEP OUTSIDE THE DOOR I CAN ALMOST SMELL FLORIDA AND I HAVE A TWINGE OF SADNESS!

WE ARE PLANNING OUR NEXT TRIP BUT I HAVE RECENTLY GIVEN UP MY WELL PAID JOB IN A BANK(TOO MUCH STRESS) TO A LOWER PAID JOB IN A SCHOOL (LOVING IT!) AND AM RESTRICTED TO SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND AM NOW GETTING WORRIED ABOUT WHETHER WE WILL EVER AFFORD TO GO AGAIN(WE HAVE A SON GOING TO UNI THIS YEAR!)

if you want it enough you can make it happen, (My glass if half full!!) ha ha

You too Cath. I think 4th July was the worst, remembering the atmosphere, the great character meal we had in Crystal Palace, the fireworks ..............

It has been so bad we have just gone and booked a sweetener just this morning. We've booked a week into a EuroDisney site hotel in Paris for the October break - which gives us another small problem - trying not to wish the rest of the summer away. The excitement among the family has begun.:thewave:

DD (Bongo Betty aka "percussion girl") is desperate to set up our countdown clock but they seem to be down at the moment - are they?

I don't think you are sad at all! I seem to spend half my life dreaming about Orlando, I think most people I know think I'm pretty sad because of this!!!

Funny -that! Me and DW were just talking about this - we went on 6th July 2002 (two years today) and were thinking about what we were doing at this time. We would just about now be opening the front door to our Executive Villa at Highlands Reserve - walking into a luxury air conditioned villa with a sparkling pool over looking the 9th fairway..........I think I'm gonna cry now!!!!

Oh well - luckily we only have 45 days to go until we repeat the experience. I can't wait.
I showed my all singing/all dancing mega detailed plan to a guy at work today as he is going a week after us. He smiled and sort of complimented me on the amount of work that must have gone into this.....(bet he thought "sad nutter"!).
I dont care what people think - half the fun and excitement is in the planning stage.

Like the person before said - if you realy want it - make it happen!

Sorry Scottish Maleficent - I meant to put this on the end of your thread but got over excited and and started a new one by mistake....DUH!

He will be kicking himself when he is standing in queues all day or can't get in to restaurants LOL :)

I have merged the thread florry :)

Cath,

I think we are all sane, it is the rest of the world who are mad!! I spend many an evening with my 2003 vacation planner DVD. Can't watch it too many times! My only sadness when I watch it is that it isn't 2004 which I lent to someone and they lost it :( (now that is sad LOL!!)

Karen

DW and myself are constantly looking back over diaries (the only ones we keep are those we write on holiday, sorry, vacation!!!), videos, leaflets, booklets, old receipts (some of which are now only good for guessing games cos they've faded so much!). Bothsides of our bed have a stack of books, including THREE of Simon's wonderful offering (2000,2002,2004), Birnbaum's, Fodor's, Mini Mickey plus dozens of park maps, shopping guides, attraction leaflets and countless other mementos we have acquired over the years. It is SOOOOOOOO good to know that we are Not alone in this practise!!!

It's not sad at all and I do it all the time :) that's what got me started on thinking about a solo trip. I was watching our camcorder footage from 2003 and suddenly felt very homesick, plus September seemed yonks away! I think it's good to think about the wonderful times you've had on holiday - it keeps you going.

It woud be sadder if you ever forget the wonderful times you had at Disney!

Just to try to keep a balanced view of this phenomenon. This time last year - we were on our way home! Who needs it!:(
