so last time i was in DLP which i'll admit was a few years ago now (summer 2010) the walkway leading in to the park which is made up of little tiles had some tiles which had been engraved with people's names and special occasions and other things. basically i'm just wondering if anyone knows if you can still have one of these tiles personalised as it were as i do remember some of them were blank. if you can still get it done how would i go about it?

TIA xxx

they haven't done them for years I'm afraid and there are no plans to start again :)

It's such a shame they don't do this anymore. When we were there last, we spent a good while looking at the different messages and spotting names from places near us.

I'd love to have a tile at Disneyland and I'm sure loads of other people would too.

It would also be a nice little source of extra funding for them (albeit, not a massive one!) :)

I remember reading a while ago that Wembley Stadium was doing something similar so it's not a completely obsolete idea!

When we went in September we read quiet a few walking at a toddler pace we saw quiet a few! So so many of them were in terrible condition some literally in pieces I would be so gutted if I went to see my tile and that had happened!

Apparently from what I read a lot of them were only sold for a certain length of time ie 10 years and if you wanted it there longer than that and looked after you would have to repay. This could explain the condition of certain.:confused3

Well I'm guessing that the people don't care or they would have paid for a longer period - works the same way here for cemetery plots, if you stop paying they resell the grave ::yes::

not so much the people it is the appearance of the park

I bought two of these for my nieces in 2002 and can confirm that the money you paid (equivalent to £50 each) included maintenance for 10 years.

When I enquired about buying one for my cousin's 21st in 2004 I was told they didn't do it anymore. :(

I'd love them to start doing this again as I'd definitely get one for my daughter and probably my husband and I too.
