This Might Be A Stupid Question...

I am staying at the Poly July 2-9. This is the first year I am an AP holder and recieved the April-July 2005 discount on my room (which only go till July 4th).

My question is if I try to get the July-August 2005 discounts for the 5th through the end of my stay, what exactly to I have to do? My cousin said I would have to check out and then check back in and call it a "split stay," which is fine with me, but will I be able to stay in the same room or would they move me. I am going down with my mom (bad knees) and 3 kids (10 yrs, 6 yrs & 6 yrs) and don't want to have to move everyone.

Has anyone ever done this? Any input would be great!!!!!!!

They will honor your code discount for the entire length of your stay.

Your cousin sounds like a real smart person. I'm sure he is handsome too! My understanding of this situation is that they will honor your original discount on the Regular season rate thru July 5 and then give you the Value season rate with the new discount applied to that. You always risk having to move, but from what I've read here, you will probably just have to go down to the front desk, check out and check back in, and you will remain in the same room. Maybe with the money you save thanks to your cousin, you could buy him a real nice present!

Hypothetical Example: You get assigned room 666 when you check in on July 2 (Regular Season) and you are paying $100/night after AP discount. On July 5 (Value season begins) your rate changes to $75/night after AP discount, at which you must go to the Front Desk to check out of the first rate and check into the second rate, but only for the sake of getting a better rate, but you don't physically have to leave the room - you'll always be in 666.

I have one AP reservation made when the first set came out that goes from June 29th - July 9th. it is my understanding that your room rate the 1st night dicates the entire reservation so i was able to get the AP rate for all nights.

But if you are staying at a deluxe- that means you are paying more because value season starts July5 and your discount would be off a lower rate to start.(does that make sense?)

I'm not sure you automatically get the same room, but here's what someone posted in one of the threads linked above:
When you check in for the first reservation warn them of the second and they will block the same room for you. You will have to go to the front desk in the morning to check out and immediately check back in.
