We are new DVC members having just bought AKL in January, and if we were to do a small add on, what are the minimum number of add on points can you buy and what is the process? Is it the same as the initial purchase ie closing costs and all that paperwork. Sorry if this has been already addressed. Thanks for any help.

If you bought directly from Disney I believe there are no more closing cost when you add on more points through them. I don't know if there is a minimum amount you have to buy.

Considering you just bought last January and now already looking in to adding on they got you hooked good. (It’s okay. I’m in the same boat.)

25pt minimum- no closing costs- i do believe it's the same paperwork as you're signing another contract..........

The minimum add on is 25 points or more if you pay cash and 50 points or more if you finance through Disney. There will be no closing costs, but there will be a little paper work. Not as much as the first time though! It's really a VERY simple process. You contact your guide, and your points are there almost immediately.

You may want to consider 50 or more points as an add-on, as there's an $8/point discount if you do 50+ points at AKV:
