This just in - Airline considers fee for lavatory use

I would imagine a ton of business loss...I would never travel an airline that charged a fee for the toilet...not with a child.:sad2:

I wouldn't either but many people would.

I always try to relate it to something else in the real world, like I would never drive a compact car (ie. Dodge Caliber, Chevy Cobalt, Hyunda Elantra, etc), why because IMO they're too small, uncomfortable and don't provide the safety and protection that my car does. But others would find those vehicles perfectly acceptable or more within their price range, so thus the demand doesn't end (Note: regardless of if you have to pay to use the tiolet on a plane, traveling by plane is still far safer then driving).

Awwww...I agree with what you said. It is the unfortunate state of being we live in.

Call it the Walmartization, Consumerism by Consumption, Devaluation of Perceived Value or whatever, the fact is there is a large majority of individuals who choose volume over quality and price before service.

Well, I remember a time when all public restrooms had a little machine on the stall door. You had to pay a dime to open the door to use the toilet, so this isn't really a new idea at all. In fact, I remember a time when stores didn't even HAVE public restrooms... so I guess now you all know how old I am :rolleyes1

yeah and you could crawl under the door to avoid the dime.

I have flown Ryanair for business between Stanstead and Bydgoszcz, Poland. They offer the only jet service from the London area.

They charge you for everything. The flight is basically an infomercial. You can not only buy food on board but also electronics, toys, train tickets, etc.

The 737 aircraft they use have the maximum amount of seats Boeing will allow on the plane. The seats do not recline and the tray tables are only about 4 inches wide.

There are no jet bridges. You board and deplane from both the front and the rear of the aircraft at the same time.

I never used the restroom, but I would have expected a credit card reader at the door, so this comes as no surprise to me that they want to charge.

I flew Ryanair from Dublin to Edinbourough. Considering the number of hen parties, etc. that I saw both in Dublin and at the gates, I really don't think this would fly. They're all drunk by the time they get to the airport, and they stay that way until after they've arrived home. I can imagine there would be a lawsuit or two if people were vomited on because the drunks couldn't find the right change in time. Not tomention an FA revolt.
