All my docs sent to Disney on Sept 9th- waiting to hear so I can make my 1st reservaton!!!:yay:
seems like forever and it's only been about 2 weeks! one more week you think? anyone go OVER the 30 days? I was told it is closer to 30 days than 3 weeks. You think they make you wait if they want to buy it back? You think they make you wait if they are going to let you have it? I know there is no rhyme or reason to them taking the property back. I have some points available but not a ridiculous amount AND......I paid more than the refusals I read..Can you tell this is consuming my thoughts??:rotfl:

My last contract took almost the whole 30 days - it passed ROFR earlier this month. I was quizzing my reseller about what happened if it got to the 30 day mark and I had not heard anything back from Disney, was I automatically approved? He told me that Disney could actually take more than 30 days!! He said it was rare, but did happen. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait more than 30 days. Hopefully, you won't either, as the waiting is awful.

I know, the waiting is the worst part! It took 28 days for us to hear back from Disney. We submitted 08/26 and were informed on 09/23 that Disney had waived ROFR.

Hang in there! Here's wishing you the best of luck! pixiedust:

Mine took about 4 months, and still have not yet got a payment booklet yet..good things come to those who wait right ? :woohoo:

One of your Brokers jobs is to discuss the ROFR process with you and to help you make a informed discussion on a price that will pass ROFR. Your Broker deals with ROFR every day and based upon their experience, they should know the trends and patterns that Disney uses for ROFR.

Patience is not one of my virtues....come to think of it....do I have any?:lmao: Waiting on Disney now...tick tock...tick tock...

Hey, you can buy direct from Disney and make your reservation almost immediately. Of course, you'll probably pay more (for most of the older resorts).

Having to deal with sellers not returning the paperwork right away and Disney possibly executing ROFR are just unfortunate things you have to deal with when you go resale. It can be stressful and requires patience.

But, hopefully it will all be over soon! And you saved some $$.

I just bought a resale from a nice person and bought into old key west, we did all the contracts ourselves, used a timeshare service to do the final transfer and escrow.

Disney took 3 weeks to ok the offer
took about another week to get
paperwork together for closing
with the timeshare people who
were very good
and then just two weeks after that
I just booked my first trip.

Good experience here.

Make sure to specify who is paying for what exactly that will help it go through faster, ie title stamps, docs, legal, closing costs, title search.

I understand completely. We have a contract submitted to ROFR on 9/4. Still waiting to hear. Everything until then just went like clockwork as we made the initial bid on 9/1. I guess it's a true hurry up and wait situation.;)

I have been waffling on purchasing a DVC resale for months.

I bought my home in such an easy decision... and that was 12 years ago - with no regrets!

We have gone here like 10 times since I was a kid

i got a great price and it's the happiest thing I
ever did. Sure it will go down in value a littlevery year
but it makes up for it in pure joy and yearly
savings. It's not an investment but is is
a Money saver and an excuse to be there.

pixiedust: I hope you get good news soon!

It's not easy...I've been waiting for just over 2 weeks for an SSR add on. I've only done 2 other resales...most of our points have been bought direct, and I know why, but the current resale prices were too hard to pass up....I hope Disney passes. Like you, we've paid more than some that have passed ROFR.

Bobbi:goodvibes

OK... I finally put a bid in for a DVC resale.. granted I bid $4 below asking price - and someone shortly after me bid the asking price... so I got shut out...

But now I am in the game - no more indecision!

I am ready to "just do it!"

They must make you wait right up to the 30 day mark. They have had my contract since 9/10 and I still haven't heard anything. I'm going to pull my hair out soon!! It's hard to work when I check my email constantly and am on DIS all the time. Do they have DVC AA meetings somewhere??

How true! Hubby thinks I need an intervention!
Our last two failed contracts:guilty: that were ROFR'd took 3 weeks and a couple of days. Latest contract just went to Disney just yesterday...starting the cycle all over..yet again!
Call your agent on Monday, see if they heard anything. Good luck!
