Of course people are just going to ignore the sign anyway and they won't put it out there any more.

And people will ignore the cup.

Since it is a health code thing, they will just stop having it.

It is considered a health issue. People will put their bottles/mugs right up to the spout and dispense. The next person does the same and can pick up germs etc from the prior person. Cruise lines have had these type of sign for several years.

It is acceptable use the provided cups to refill your bottles/mugs.

Then I guess we will all use water fountains. :)

That's why I said to use cup as a funnel.

You might use your cup as a funnel but I guarantee most don't think like you. We were at the Beach Club in February and there was a very well dressed woman and her almost teen daughter putting their water bottles right up against the tap and filling their bottles. She also spilled water all over the nice wooden table top the dispenser was sitting on left without wiping it up. Great example she was setting for her daughter.

If people are already doing what you described, then they actually should get rid of them, unfortunately.

They were that day, we were right behind them. After we cleaned up their mess we walked away without filling up our cups.

Never heard of cross contamination or it being a health department violation but I do wonder from a common sense POV from a different direction why anyone would put a liquid dispenser on a wooden table? At YC the lobby dispenser has a drain built into it although truth be told I dinna note any cleaning paraphernalia nearby.

Not sure why it was on the table it was. The previous day it was over near the Concierge Desk. They did have a stack of paper napkins on the table to wipe up any spills which is what I used.

And I'm sure nobody is swigging the three ounces from that little cone and then refilling their used cone......the water bottles (like mine, where the part I drink from comes off to fill it) aren't the only possible contamination. However, they would drain that dispenser much more quickly, causing more work to refill it. I'd say it's a coin toss as to which one is driving that sign.

Personally, I take my own bottle and keep it filled with ice and water all day. Even if they put in filling stations like in Pandora all over the parks (which I think is a great idea), they will likely still be warm. I'll just stick to getting counter service ice midway through my day. I'm not a "no bag" person anyway, and I always carry a bottle, not just in the parks, so I'm used to if.
