This is why Disney can do whatever they want...

So we recorded the 60th Anniversary special and are just getting around to watching it now. And we're all enthralled, even my husband. And it just creates this emotional reaction, it does bring back that feeling of fantasy and awe and nostalgia. It brings about excitement to the children. And that is why Disney can do whatever it wants with prices and tickets, because I think that Disney evokes that emotional attachment like no other park can.

I'm not saying it's right for them to take advantage of us in that way, I dislike corporate greed, but... at the end of the day it is what it is. And just to be fair, while they're getting greedy yes, they also do so much in the way of charities etc... that others don't - how they partner with all the Wish companies, how they make their rides so adaptable so that people of all abilities can ride etc... That is something you just don't see elsewhere.

And so, as so many have said - there will always be people willing to pay. It's sad, because I know that after tomorrow we'll probably be priced out... and I won't lie, I'll probably cry if we are and realize we can't go back (lol), because Disney was and is that magical for us.

I caught the tail end of it. The dancing with the stars and Star Wars announcement with Harrison Ford. Just those two parts were amazing themselves.

I'm hooked on Disney and will try to make it work within our means.

Mine and dh's AP are good til June. Ds' until October. We are staying less at the resorts and making more "one tank trips" to Disney instead. Eating off property or at home before/after.

I get emotional over Disney too but nothing in that "special" did it for me. I thought it sucked.

I agree! The last two trips we've taken I've left and said "OK - I'm Disney'd out, crowds are too much and for the price there are lots of other options"...but then I sit here today wishing I was at Disney! LOL!

I remarked that Walt Disney would be spinning in his grave if he saw the twerking dancers in the opening parade number...

I agree with that. The "Wanna Be Like You" number... I thought really, skin tight, low cut bodysuits with twerky dancing? But overall, we loved the show.
