Guys,

My WDW wizards, I have a question for you. One of my friends wants to go to WDW in June and she is interested in finding out if it is unbearably hot. Or if it is bearable and I know you all are the ones to ask.:goodvibes

You may see some empty quote windows here. As I had said earlier this week I had started to reply to everyone a couple of times last week but could never get the time to finish. Well DISBoards remembers and every time I try and post it brings the old quotes back in so I've cleared the text but kept the quote lines to see if I can get clear of them ;)

Isn't keeping up with technology fun?! I recently went back to work part time to work on a project that they need help with. Before I had my daughter, I was a Systems Operations/Security Analyst. Wow, I have missed A LOT in 5 years that I'm now trying to update and learn again

Walmart was good! Went for sunblock and a few toiletries and spent $70...how does that happen :confused3

Hope you are well Mike!

Yes, keeping up with tech even when you're active in the business is hard. I don't envy you trying to catch up after being away for 5 years - good luck! :thumbsup2

Amazing how the $$$ add up in wallyworld. On the occasions that I go in there I try to keep the goal of staying under $100. If we're getting groceries all bets are off though :scared1:

Morning All! Only 1 day left and I am need more like 5

Today is StinkerBelle's last day of preschool...EVER :sad1: It seems like she was just three years old and we were starting our first day. Time really does go too fast. I'm so nervous yet excited for her to start kindergarten!

I have so much crap to do that I could scream! I guess I should just figure it will all get done since it always does :upsidedow

Happy Hump Day :flower3:

The days scream by when you get within a week. Awww, no more preschool? Can't stop the little stinkers from growing up can we? Does your area do the kindergarten where you do staggered days? Ours had the girls either doing Mon/Wed and Friday morning or Tues/Thurs and Friday afternoon. What a pain for scheduling :sad2:

Go ahead and scream, it is a good release valve. Unfortunately it doesn't give you more time to work with. Put on some upbeat music and roll through your day :cool1:

um..."okay" is a relative term, hah.

car is in one piece...mostly. Trunk is completely screwed. And if they total my car out, I'm screwed. They won't give me crap for it, and I can't afford a new one right now especially after the IVF :(

he has state farm, thankfully. I couldn't speak to anyone in claims last night b/c it was too late :confused3

I have to call this morning. I woke up with a backache, headache, and my eyelids are swollen (it's those last 2 that I'm really concerned with...so I am going to let State Farm know, and call my dr)

Oh man, that stinks. Make sure and call your insurance carrier too. In my case (was rear-ended a year ago) my insurance took care of everything/paid all of the bills and then dealt with getting reimbursed by other guy's insurance company for me. After it was all done his insurance company (Safeco) paid everything and gave me $1,000 on top of it for the inconvenience.

Yes, get into the doctor for sure. I had to do a series of chiropractic and massage sessions to get my back straightened out. Feel better! :goodvibes

Well I've never been there in June but when I was there in April and they had uncommonly warm weather (low 90s with high humidity) then and it was bearable but you had to really pace yourself and keep lots of sunscreen and bottled water handy.

A bigger downside of June (or July/August) is the crowd levels. You'll be hot and be dealing with bigger crowds & longer ride line waits.

so my dr said I'd have to pay CASH since it's related to automobile accident. They suggested I go to the ER.

I had bloodwork for my thyroid scheduled for today, which requires fasting. So I hadn't taken anything for my headache and it was getting bad. I sucked it up and went early for my bloodwork, so at least that's over with, and we should have results back before my appt on Friday with the dr (the "w.t.f" appt, to find out why the cycle failed). I am thinking it may have something to do with my thyroid....but we'll see.

So I went to the ER after, and they treated me as my dr would. I didn't have to do an x-ray, but they said if I end up with any nausea later, to go back in for possible concussion. My headache is still lingering, even after taking something for it. But I think I will be fine.

They took the claim # instead of my insurance information. Although they obviously didn't do much for me, I am glad to have gotten my 'injuries' documented..JUST in case. Hopefully all my soreness and the eyepain/headache goes away soon

Yeah, that sounds about right. She doesn't want to take her kids out of school so she was looking at summer. Now she is looking for some place else to go.

I wonder why your eyelids are swollen? Did you cry? Maybe that why they swollen?

Either way, I am glad u are going to the doctors

IT will be pretty hot

Not as hot as August, but hot

It will be more crowded

But on the plus side, the parks will be open later and have more EMH at night

If she goes with a plan, wont be bad

Go to rope drop, do rides until about noon, when crowds build

Back to hotel to nap and or swim

Then go back after dinner

I think it is doable if she stays on property :thumbsup2

I haven't been in June since I was a kid (and the heat was a good tradeoff then because I got to have some of my bdays there) but most recently in 2006, we went the week of July 4. It was HOT, HOT, HOT. But if you're gonna take any "park" vacation in the heat of summer, Disney is the place to do it. There are lots of water features, especially in Epcot. There are shaded areas, and certainly lots of air conditioned stores. When you are in and out of the stores, and the rides, and of course inside to eat, it's really not so bad. In fact, I remember eating outside at Epcot on the 4th. I guess it couldn't have been THAT bad, if we ate outside.

It's a good idea to take a break at the hottest part of the day (when the parks are also very full). Either a nap, or a dip in the pool (or both!) can be so refreshing. Tell your friend to plan to eat counterservice at odd times if possible. You do NOT want to be waiting in food lines at noon in the summer season if you can help it.

My favorite rides in the summer are Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, ironically she lives in Vegas so who knows. I think she has decided to look towards San Francisco.

Thank you I will tell Beth what everyone says.

I can't even remember if I mentioned that our AC went out last Thursday (the very same day that we found out the IVF failed)

We have 2 units, thankfully. But the one went out that runs the front of the house--and boy is it hot here in Louisiana! We had a cool front for a day, so that was nice. But it's back to being hot again.

Anyway, we have AHS (American shield--home warranty) so it only costs us a copay. AND just found out that they are replacing the whole unit!!! It will cost us an extra $75 due to the EPA disposal fee for the old unit. So this is definitely the silver lining about our AC. We've had issues with it the past few summers, but they've only done repairs. But now the coil that went out is not even made anymore. So glad we'll have a new unit and not have to call them for a long time about the ac now!

I wish there was a silver lining with the IVF but alas, there is not...and can only hope that there's a silver lining with my accident.

So I have questions for you concerning your cruise. I don't remember what cruise company you used. Did you like it? Would you use them again? What made you choose them?

We sailed Carnival and the reason we did is because I wanted to go where it was going. The ports are what we enjoyed. We saw some amazing places!

Honestly, the ship itself was just okay. We aren't gamblers or karaoke people or big drinkers or into the club scene and that is basically what there is to do on the ship at night. We were kind of bored in the evening. But we were bored together ~ all alone ~ without kids! We *managed* to occupy ourselves. ;)

Today is one of "those" days that you hear about.

I have good and I have not so good, it's not bad......

The good is I won the pre-opening ride on Star Tours for May 25.

The not so good news, I can't go.:sad2:

But, I am a winner!!:rotfl:

Well, congrats on winning ~ and bummer on not being able to go!

FML. Got rear-ended tonight. :sad2:

Unfreakingbelievable. Honey, you must just be feeling like "what next?!"

Another thing to consider is if it's HOT where she is coming from, which is Vegas? If she's already acclimated to warmer temps she'll be alright. Going to WDW in Dec. from Michigan where it is freezing was a shock to our systems. We were used to temps in the 20's and 30's and got down there to temps in the 70's and 80's and we were uncomfortable!

June is better than July or August for sure, here in FL!

Well, this IS a bit of good news. I remember that your AC gave you trouble last summer. It will be nice to not have to worry about it.

I am looking at all these different cruises and trying to decide which one we want to go on. I guess that maybe Princess is leading because I like their land/sea set up. That is where it is for me.

Yeah winning was bitter sweet.

The humidity is what is worrying Beth. Vegas is as dry as can be.
