Okay girlies...... I've got a dilemma. You know how the boys and I are going to Sea World for their class trip on the 23rd then Tom and Abby are coming to Orlando on the 24th to retrieve us from SW and we'll go on over to Disney for the weekend. Well, I just found out the buses are leaving SW at 9:30 am on the 24th and the boys and I will be stranded there.

I am thinking we will take a cab or something over to POR and have them hold our luggage and then the boys and I can hop on the ferry to DTD or even a bus to a park since we'll have tix for that day.

Thoughts on all of this? They will hold my luggage at POR, right? It would be fabulous if we could get into a room that early but I am not holding my breath.

Will there be cabs out front of SW? Or should I pre-arrange something? :confused3

Public Transportation from Disney:
SeaWorld is not responsible for changes to bus routes and schedules. This is for information purposes only that our guests have requested. The lynx #50 bus goes from Downtown Disney to Downtown Orlando and back, but does have a stop near SeaWorld Orlando. For itinery and route information go to www.golynx.com click on schedules and maps and then link #50 for more information

I tried looking at their website, but not much out there

But looks like you can get a bus from Sea World to DTD. But I guess that would not work since u said you are going to have your luggage with you right?

have to do some more sleuthing popcorn::

In-Park Information Center
The Information Center is located just inside the park to the right of the Main Entrance. Team members can assist you with the following:

Visitor information (hotels, campsites, points of interest)
Guides for guests with disabilities
Show information
Travel assistance
Lost and found
Lost children's center
General park information and assistance

Looks like they can give you info when you get there

But beforehand, I would find name of a reputable taxi cab company and save their info in your phone, just in case

Disney to Sea World:
1. Cheapest Option: Take #50 LYNX bus from TTC or Downtown Disney to Sea World
Click here to link to the LYNX schedule It leaves TTC at 1 minute and 31 minutes after the hour (running every 1/2 hour from 6:31 am - 12:01 am) and leaves DTD at 19 and 49 minutes after each hour. You can return at 10# and 40# after the hour from 5:40 am to 11:10 pm It is $2.00 each way for an adult and $1.00 for a child (young babies may be free).

2. You can arrange a Shuttle through Mears Transportation I think it should be $18 pp round trip

3. You can get a cab, Mears' fare estimator indicates it is about 10 miles from Epcot to Sea World with an estimated fare of $23.65 each way, so if you have 3 people, the cab is cheaper than the shuttle. When we did this, it was a tiny bit less. They have big cab vans which I think cost the same as the ones that look like yellow town cars.

4. You can also schedule a towncar for $37 each way

That was borrowed from a thread on sea world section of the board

So u can do a cab or just do mears.....:goodvibes

Kelly! :worship:

The bus with my boys, by myself, with luggage scares the pants off me.

Even a cab scares me a little bit. I'm not a big city girl!

But Mears is freaking expensive!

So I guess I will use a cab. Did I ever tell y'all about the time we went to Chicago with the kids? The boys were 4. Owen spent the entire vacation trying to hail a cab. He wanted to ride in one so bad. It was so cute! Well, he'll finally get his wish! :rotfl2:

I'm a little excited about spending this time with just the boys. And I think the time Tom will spend with Abby alone will be good for them too. When I first realized the issue I asked him if he and Abby could come over the night before but he really can't. He'll be in Houston until Wednesday night and will really need to spend the whole day at work Thurs. Plus Abby has symphony practice after school Thurs. until 5 anyway. They'd get in really late.

I am not a fan of the bus. The thought of having to take care of the boys and luggage is not a fun one.:scared1:

To me taxis are always dirty. At least that is my perception.

Shuttles are okay if it is a quick trip. We have used them at DLR and will this trip but not with luggage and kids. But, $18 a person? Are they kidding? or on drugs?

The towncar is high too.

My question is how much to rent a car for one day? Seriously. I see ads all the time on tv for rental cars for $24.95 for a day.

Yeah, bus and luggage might a little hard

Looks like Owen will finally get his cab wish :rotfl2:

I think it will be nice for the kids to get the special time with each parent :lovestruc

You know all I really wanted when I had my kids was fruit and cottage cheese.

I couldn't go past Mickey either.

I have always heard that yawning helps.

Oh I sure have yawned...a LOT

Yawn like Michele said

I forget, whic his right one, but I am pretty sure u can put peroxide in your ear....it will sizzle and supposed to clear it up

but google before u do that

LOL my cousin (a new nurse) just told me to use rubbing alcohol. Should help dry it up. Sit with it in there for 2 minutes. But if it ends up being my inner ear, none of this will probably work and I have to see the ENT. I am scared to try the alcohol/peroxide! I hate stuff in my ear. But this fluid in my ear does not feel good so I suppose I should really try this method.

Cheri,

Maybe you need antibiotics? The reason I don't use alcohol is because alcohol is always so freaking cold.

go Love!! I'm proud of you that is awesome!

so sweet! True Love!!
that's something Shannon and I always wanted to do together!! sure wish we would have!

try plugging both ears with your fingers and swallowing. also peroxide helps. Lay on your side and have a few drops dropped in with an eye dropper if you have one. You'll feel wierd sensation in your ear. after it stops turn o ver to the other side so it can drain out. you can also try warmed olive oil. I've used this and it worked. I found the following on a home remedy site I use a lot...
The most effective clogged ear remedy for cold and allergy is drinking a lot of warm water throughout the day. Yawning at frequent intervals can also be quite helpful. Nasal decongestants are also quite effective in unblocking ears and are a useful clogged ear remedy for sinus too. People should avoid blowing their nose excessively in such cases, as it could worsen ear pain.

aww Leah

okay I tried the plugging and swallowing. I've been doing a lot of that type of stuff. I also try chewing gum and food vigorously, and it's as if it wants to pop but it's totally stuck! I get these occasional vibrating sensations in my ear drum too and it hurts and is very loud in my ear! It feels like my ear is getting ready to explode or something.

wow, warm water. The thought of that is nausea-inducing to me! LOL

Cheri, think time for a doctor appt

I do know that once my ear was clogged and it took almost 2 weeks to clear up

TOO funny about the cab!!! When I was a kid I wanted to take a cab too. Honestly the first time I remember taking one was in Mexico to get to an excursion (I was on a cruise) and those people drive like MANIACS all over the road!! I was 19 then, and I didn't take another cab ride until my honeymoon at age 25...in Waikiki, Hawaii--so not a very long ride. But a much better experience overall! LOL The 3rd time was not for a very good reason....during our...2009 trip I believe, when the Disney buses received a bomb threat just before Animal Kingdom had closed for the day. We waited over an hour and a half for a cab. After we'd waited a little while, Disney decided to open Animal Kingdom back up for another 2 hours -- now that is service!! If we didn't have a dinner ressie to get to, we would've stayed! I just remember being SO pissed off that we got screwed out of our afternoon plans! We'd left AK with intentions of going to relax, possibly take a quick swim and a shower, and THEN go to dinner. Due to the stupid threat or fake "package" left by some assinine person () we ended up having to rush and still got to our dinner late. Thankfully, it being out of our hands (we explained we were late due to the bomb threat and having to wait on a cab with 200 other people) they were accommodating and didn't make us lose our spot for dinner.

Gosh...I had forgotten all about that til we were talking about cabs!! Did I ever share this story with any of you?

I googled and found that peroxide is for earwax build-up, whereas I have fluid. Alcohol can help fluid. So I used some rubbing alcohol. I don't think it helped. I broke down and called an ENT, and am going Friday at 9:45. I really hope he can help me!! I worry that because I am pregnant, he won't be able to do much. I at least waited until 2nd trimester, so that more meds fall into the safe category now for me.
