We are trying to figure out which week to go in November and right now I can book tickets from BDL to MCO for $189 each, non stop on Delta. But.....our trip dates could change based on discounts, and with Delta I'm pretty sure there is a fee to change your tickets, unlike Southwest. I wish Southwests flights were out! Ugh!

And....to make it even harder to choose - the flights are at perfect times of the day! We'd get to Disney early and not have to leave too early on the way home (this past trip we had to be on ME at 6 AM to get home!). !!!!

It's not just the change fee but also the fare difference. Southwest also charges the applicable fare difference for changes. So even if that was a Southwest fare and you booked it now you may end up paying much more if you change your dates.

Personally I wouldn't even consider booking a domestic flight this far out -- heck I still haven't booked my flight to Columbia, SC for the World Beer Fest on 1/22 yet... Cost is no more / less than if I booked months ago! I'm not saying wait till 2 weeks out, but 2 months should be quite sufficient.

I generally do not book until I *know* when I am going to go---but, once i know specific dates, I'm looking for any "decent deal" rate. As soon as I see a decent deal for dates I know I need, I book it.

Knowing the dates is pressing for booking flights.

If you will know them within 4 months of travel wait and book then, If you will not know that soon, I would still prob book and do my best to keep the dates.
