I have been engaged for 4 years now and I want it to be so 'right' that I keep putting it off and putting it off. Anyway, the last time I was at Disney (my first time), I thought it would be great to get married there... BUT, this is the main though that crossed my mind: Getting married at Disney would cut into my park time! Can you believe it?! I'm silly!

Have any of you gotten married there just with you and your husband/wife? If I were to marry at Disney, it is very unlikely that any family would make the trip with us.

I am just the same!

DF and I just want a very low key wedding, Just the 2 of us :bride: :groom:

We eventualy decided to get married next time we go to Orlando (Sept 2006!) but I am VERY concerned it will remove at least a morning from my park time, What will I do?!?!? :confused3

I know how you feel :goodvibes

But most of my trips to WDW were always 3 or 4 days - can you beleive it? We always jammed as much fun as we could into those trips - rushing from one ride to another! This time since it is our wedding AND honeymoon, we are really indulging and staying about 10 or 11 nights. Of course with all the wedding events; welcome party, catching up with friends I haven't seen in years, the wedding and reception, and the MK photo session, I KNOW my trip is going to fly right by and 10 days won't be enough either. But there is always an anniversary trip :earsgirl:

Well...here's my "story":

All my life I've been a Disney-maniac! Love the Mouse, love EVERYTHING Disney. I finally made it to Disneyland in 2001 at the age of 35...spent a VERY CROWDED day there and only got to really see a few things :guilty: ...

Fast forward to 2003...talking to my new BF and he mentions (off the cuff) a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding! :earseek: I wasn't sure I wanted to marry this guy yet (of course, thinking of a Disney wedding surely made his case a bit better! :rotfl:)

So, we get engaged and start planning our Disney wedding!!!

We were married last month at Disney World...neither of us had EVER been there before!!! And it was just the two of us!!

Now, I realize just how much time the wedding stuff took away from us being able to visit the parks, but I don't regret it for a second!!! We are hoping to go back for anniversaries and stuff...and we can have more time in the parks then! :)

Depending on the time of year and the time of day you choose to have your wedding, you may not lose as much time in the parks as you think! Our intimate ceremony (including pics and cake and champagne cutting) only took about 45 minutes from the time we left our room 'til we were back in our room and it was over!!!

We used the limo service (4 hours) to take us to DTD later in the week...

I understand how you feel, but believe me, there is NOTHING more magical than saying "I DO" in the happiest, most magical place on the planet!!! :flower:

If you're worried about the wedding cutting into park time... just stay longer! We're going for three weeks instead of two...

hmmm.... im from the UK so i usually make the excuse that i need to go for along time to make the flight worthwhile so i normally go for 3 weeks....maybe i should go for 4!
