I've been at this for almost 2 weeks (eating sensibly and increase exercise) and oh my goodness...it works!! I've lost 4.5 pounds. I've been making time to exercise while working part time and caring fo rthe baby/house/husband is no easy task but I've made the choice to do it. I think what Dr Phil said really clicked...if you're overweight you have to have a lifestyle that supports that and if you want to loose weight you have to have a lifestyle that supports that choice. It's totally not easy..I'm a junk food junkie.
I was at the mall with my overweight best friend of 20 years and we somehow found ourselves standing in front of the cookie place and the double doozie (the 2 cookies with all that frosting crammed in between!!) was staring me in the face. I listened to her place her order and I looked at each of those cookies and wondered which would be the best choice and then I just said "No thanks!" it was easier than I thought!! I have the power to make that choice..pretty cool. Now I know the day will come...soon I'm sure...that I will have 'a craving' and I won't be so strong but I'm ok with that.
I've also noticed big changes with the exercise. I've been doing the treadmill for 45 min and 200 abroller crunches 4-5 days/week. Now I know people say you can't spot reduce but I have seen a huge difference in my stomach. It's still soft but it is definitely lifted. I stood with my bike shorts on and looked in the mirror and was not mortified at that sag I usually see.
Sorry to ramble on but this is so cool to see it working. I always love to read others success and that gives me motivation. I know the hardest part is to come but I know I will read the WISH board and read someone elses excited post and jump back on it!! So good luck to everyone..whatever your program. Keep up the hard work.
