My pre report can be found here!
Arrival Day – (July 10th) I had scheduled to work from home on the 10th so I could finish packing and be ready to leave by 2pm. Our flight was scheduled to leave St. Louis at 4pm on Thursday. LC arrived earlier that day thanks to my parents picking her up half way between our homes. Allegiant Airlines started flying out of a small airport I live close to a while back and when I was booking my trip I decided to fly it as it was WAY cheaper. The flight left Mid America Airport in Belleville at 3:58pm and arrived at Sanford-Orlando International at 7:04pm.
Let me just say that the “Airport” is super tiny and the only flight that uses it is the one Allegiant flight so there was no line which was great. We arrived about 50 minutes before our flight, checked our luggage and were through security in 10 minutes! The flight was delayed few minutes but around 4:10 we took off and were on our way to FLORIDA!
We arrived in Sanford to rain but that didn't dampen out excitement. It was super easy to get our rental car and we were on our way. The GPS said the drive would be 40 minutes but we were talking about our plans so I didn’t feel that long. We saw the UNIVERSAL ORLANDO sign and knew we had arrived! (It was dark and rainy so I never got any pictures)
Before get went to the hotel we had a few stops to make as we needed some water and food. It was about 8:30 by the time we got to the Universal area so we stopped quickly to grab a bit at McDonalds. Once done we grabbed a case of water and was on our way.
Finally we pulled up to the Royal Pacific Resort. The wonderful bellhop took our luggage while I went to check us in. I had originally planned to stay off site at the Holiday Inn but last minute I changed my mind as I started reading reports about Early Entry into Diagon Alley. I didn’t want to have to mess around with finding the hotel, checking in and getting our express passes at 5am. The last minute reservation caused me to have to book two reservations with the first night in a king room and the remaining in queens. When I went to check in I asked if there was any way to get a room that I could stay in the whole trip but it wasn’t an option which was okay (but would of be nice). But in the confusion (person on the phone didn’t understand what the check in lady was asking) my second reservation was upgraded to a water view so we only had to change rooms not wings.
For the first night our room was in the 3rd wing (3310) on the third floor so we just walked right over to it. The room was nice and our water view was of the pool. It was dark so we couldn’t see much but the pool! Since we would be changing rooms we didn’t unpack. We did go get our express passes and checked out the hotel a little before heading to our room to call it a night…. As the next morning we would be waking up early (5:30am) to get to Universal for Early Entry into Diagon Alley.
