This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

I haven't showed my kids yet. I opened my mouth too soon about the monster's inc. coaster at DHS and they got all excited for nothing. Do you know if everything at MK is opening at the same time or when each thing is done it will open? I've heard end of 2012/early 2013! I'll show it to them soon. I wonder if they'll be jumping up and down like me or think they have a crazy mother.

We used a double when Amy was first born around the parks. Then after a few months we started using 2 singles and I just thought it was easier with folding and it was easier if we split up 2 and 2. Our double was garbage however. Now they have some fancy small doubles. Did Ally use a stroller in May? Like someone else said it's easier because you're in charge and they don't get worn out. Does the company bring it to your resort or you pick it up at the airport?

I've heard all of the princess and I think Dumbo stuff is set for 2012 (not sure specific months) and then Pixie Hollow will be done in 2013 (again not sure which month).

Yes, we took our Sit-N-Stand stroller last May. Ally rode in that but it did not allow her to lay down when needed. A lot of evenings she began to dose off and almost fell out of the stroller. Brent ended up carrying her back to the Poly!! it was exhausting!! Yes, the company delivers to your resort which is a plus!!

Hey, Becky! I'd been meaning to look for your PTR, and when you mentioned it on FB that reminded me. Plus, I had to stop by and see if any plagiarism was going on over here! ;) Your thread title is so funny. Earlier tonight while I was on the DIS, I saw that title (but didn't see that it was your thread) and thought, "Man, that person must've gone the same time as me last year." LOL!! Anyway, you're off to a great start, and now I have a lot of reading to do to get caught up!

I just saw your new map post :confused3 don't know how I missed it before. It looks awesome, almost makes me want to have another baby right now so they will be right about the age to enjoy it when it opens :lmao: Notice I said ALMOST.

Julie! Hi my friend!! Glad you made it over to my PTR!!! :goodvibes Thank you again for all of the great info on the stroller!! I think you have made up our minds!!! :thumbsup2

Hee hee!! ALMOST, huh?! :lmao:

I was on that super long BBB thread tonight looking for pics of Tiana dresses, and found something awesome! There's a fellow DISer on that thread who makes the most amazing costumes for her dd. Seriously, they are unbelievable! She has lots of pics of them on flikr. You have got to see them. Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28159731@N02/2627135900/in/photostream/ Her pics span several trips and she just gets more and more creative. And you won't believe some of the photo ops she's gotten because of her work. Amazing!!

If we started telling Brooklynn about upcoming changes, she would be asking a million questions for the next three years! We'll just let her see the changes as they occur for our own sanity.

I just had to share the snowlady that Ally and I made together this past week. It was a family project for school--we had to create a snowman using items around our house. This is what we came up with!!

Ally's teacher LOVED it!! She even sent me a special e-mail telling me how cute it was!! :goodvibes

As most of you know Brent was in India for 9 days for work and finally came home Saturday night!! One of his employees who lives in India sent these special gifts home with him for the girls!! Indian Barbies!! The girls were THRILLED with their gifts!!

The Barbies are sooo beautiful!!

And I'm not sure if I officially announced this yet here on my PTR (I know I've discussed it) but we are planning a 2nd trip to WDW this year in December to see all of the Christmas festivities!! :santa: We have not booked the trip yet but we are looking at going the week after Thanksgiving!! So not only will I be discussing plans for May here on my PTR but also plans for December!!! :goodvibes We cannot WAIT!!!!

Love the Minnie snowlady! You are super creative! The Indian barbies are really cute. That had to be hard to have Brent gone for that long - I bet the girls missed their daddy!

YAY!! Our flight is booked for our May trip!! We were waiting until Brent got home from India to book so we could use the miles.

Yay for frequent flier miles! I miss the days when Scott traveled for work and we would earn a bunch of miles - he was only gone for a couple of days at a time, so it wasn't too hard on us, and it definitely helped with the vacation budget!

Hi Becky!
Finally getting around to catching up a bit here....loving your PTR! Love the snow woman, soo cute and creative!!!:cutie:

You're trip is sneaking up on your! Less than 4 months..woohoo!!:dance3: So jealous, not sure when we'll go back again...most likely 2011! :headache:

Looking forward to hearing more!!

We are also going to rent a stroller. We brought our double last year. Worked ok but draggin it thru the airports was a pain. Think I am going with Magic Strollers. It is about $20 cheaper and comes with the parent tray. C is a better walker than A so it will be interesting to see who uses it more. They did not really nap in it except our last night at Epcot while the thunderstorm raged.

Becky,
thanks for posting about the stollers...
I had already decided to rent from one of the orlando rental places for our trip in Nov
after hearing Katie's thoughts on the disney strollers...
thanks to everyone here who has rented from other companies and shared the info, I had started checking into the two companies listed by PP but had not heard from anyone who had used them as of yet!
Have a great evening!

Hey, no problem, Connie!! Yeah, Katie's report pretty much made up my mind NOT to use WDW's strollers!!

YAY for MAY! AND YAY for December!!! How fun for you!!! That is going to be great!!! AND I hear that the week after Thanksgiving is really an easy time to go -- and that they often do the Christmas parade then! We had friends with two little girls who went that week and it wasn't bad at all they said! Can't wait to hear more about your May plans and of course will be glad to help with your december ones! :thumbsup2 The stroller rental sounds like a great idea! We have always brought ours -- I had to buy one, actually, there in Orlando for our trip last July -- we ended up buying a cheap double at the Baby R Us store in Orlando b/c we had forgotten ours... we took the auto train from VA so we had our car and were able to do so, but since you are flying, renting from one of those services sounds great... We were able to get one for 100.00 but we then "sold" it at the MK gate for $30.00 to a couple with two liitle kids who were renting one from Disney (for a lot more than $30.00!!!) and so we figured it was a good $60.00 investment -- seeing how it is a lot more to rent them from Disney! If I had that stroller service info I would have thought to do that too! Good choice!

Also, the Indian Barbies -- so neat!! really pretty costumes.

Hi Kelly and :welcome: to my PTR!!! I'm so glad that you have enjoyed my previous PTRs/TRs and have found them helpful!! :goodvibes Yes!! We absolutely fell in love with the Poly when we stayed there last May!! I'm not sure if I'll ever want to stay anywhere else! :lovestruc I hope your DH will want to go back yearly--how did he like your Sept. trip? Thanks for introducing yourself and joining in!![/QUOTE]

Hi Becky! My DH liked our Sept. trip a LOT, but I think he would like to go other places on vacation (unlike me!). I think I can talk him into more trips, maybe one this year and then we'll probably have to take a year off. We'll see! I can't wait to stay at the Poly!

Hi Becky! Just wanted to tell you that Katie did get the Princess and the Frog wii game for her birthday last week from my sister and she loves it! Its really cute, so if you haven't played it yet, you've got to do it soon!

Also, I wrote you on FB about Glee....

And we are pretty set for our August trip on French Quarter, since we will need two rooms and we really liked Riverside, but I liked how small French Quarter was. Anyway, two years ago when we went, Katie did the castle package at BBB and LOVED it!!! It was amazing, but expensive! I also took her to the castle for breakfast (we've done that every year and she loves that too!). But this year I told her that she had a choice, we could do the castle package at BBB or breakfast at the castle or if she wanted to bring a costume from home then we could do both. She chose to do both! (Smart girl!) I know you brought a costume for Ally last year. How did that work out? Did you just put it on her right before you brought her in? Where did you get one for her? I still want to get her a deluxe costume, but nothing too heavy, as we are going in August.

Also, did your travel agent (you already gave me her name, thanks!) book BBB for you, or did you do that after you got your CRT ressies? We are going to wait to see if Free dining comes out, so probably won't book until end of march, beginning of April....and I'm worried about getting an early am BBB. When I took Kate last time, we did BBB in the late afternoon and then went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

Sorry so many questions!

What do you think?

Auugggh I totally have a lot of reading and catching up to do, but I wanted to jump on since you will be there when we will!

Awww! Thanks!! And thank you for your input on going right after Thanksgiving!! It's good to hear from several people that that is a good time to go!! :goodvibes Oh wow! That's great that you were able to buy a stroller there and then sell it to someone else! I bet that family was glad that they ran into you!! :goodvibes

Oh, I see!! My hubby was glad that now we're not going to the beach every summer!! But he does love Disney as much as I do!! :lovestruc

YAY! So glad that she liked the Princess and the Frog Wii game!! Ally loves it and I'm amazed at how many games are included--wow!! I don't think she's even gotten to play all of the games on there yet!!

Posted to you about Glee--April 13th--not sure I can wait that long--uggh!!

Katie IS a smart girl to choose both!! :thumbsup2 It worked very well to bring a costume from home. I dressed Ally in her Cinderella dress before we left the Poly that morning (but she had an 8 am appt.). The dress she wore was from The Disney Store--I bought it on clearance!! But I also know a lady on Ebay that sells the park ones for cheaper--I can message you her info!! :goodvibes

Yes, my TA has booked Ally's BBB appts the last 2 times! She booked the BBB the same day she booked my ADRs. But this year we're doing 1900 Park Fare instead or CRT! Both times she was able to get the 8am appt!! I highly recommend her!! :thumbsup2

Auugggh I totally have a lot of reading and catching up to do, but I wanted to jump on since you will be there when we will!

Hi and :welcome: to my PTR!!! I'll have to check out your PTR! That's neat that we'll be there the same week! There are a lot of us that will be going that same week!! Glad you're joining in!! :goodvibes

I know I'm a little late about the stroller debate, but last year when we went to Disney we rented from orlandostroller rentals and it was the best money I ever spent! My kids at the time were 4 and 2. They were comfy and could sleep when they needed to. It folded up great for the buses. I would totally recommend them. It is a great stroller!!!
