I know this may be bad on the Dis Boards but we have a problem that i am not sure what to do about. My daughter's senior class will be staying at Disney World next spring. They were thinking about staying at the Swan or Dolphin because of the great location. However some of the guys want to go over to Universal for one day. Is there a way to get from the Swan or Dolphin to Universal Studios?

My daughter would rather just stay at Disney World.:)

It's not a bad question! Many folks stay at WDW and go to US during their holiday!

There is only the Lynx bus system for "public transport" as far as I know. You'll most likely end up having to take a cab. Best idea would be to get the cab at DTD and have them go "the back way" (Turkey Lake) to US.

I heard the Lynx bus ride is quite long and involves a transfer. I also believe they stop running after a certain time in the evening. A better option might be the Mears shuttle which gets mixed reviews, but they run shuttles to US from hotels around DW area. The best way/cheapest way is to rent a car and drive, but if you have a big group, it might not work out too well. You could also try a taxi and try to get the minivan taxis.

The school and the class should not employ, and your daughter should not follow against her will, a buddy system that requires a person to go to Universal, paying for transportation, finding her way around the Lynx bus systen, etc. just because the buddy wished to. If necessary the chaperones should re-buddy the students as needed.

I know both of my daughter went with they senior classes to DW. They booked through a company that plans the entire trip. They stayed at All-Star sports, had tickets to all parks, went to Typhoon and Universal Studios. They had a bus arranged to take them there. Their days were well planned. If they can book through a company that does these kinds of student groups, they'll be better off. They can get what they want, and it will be a better way of keeping track of the kids.
