My DD is 3 and we have been preschool shopping. We went to one on Monday and fell in love with it! It was everything DH & I were looking for including not killing our bank account :thumbsup2 So Tuesday DD was officially signed up to start Sept 7! :cheer2:

She has also been taking gymnastics classes at The Little Gym for about 2 years and today was the last day because it was closing. She was ok with it. I mean she liked going but I it didn't really effect her when I told her we wouldn't be coming back to gymnastics. (Now if it was her swim classes that were ending then I would be having all hell to pay! :furious:) But tonight we enrolled her in dance classes which she is super excited about! She already loves to dance so I think this will come naturally for her.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement! :lovestruc

Those are fun years - enjoy them!

Aww, glad y'all had such a special week! I hope your dd will love dance and preschool!

My daughter is also 3 and just started dance class two weeks ago. She loves it. We had been talkign about it for a while, and I wanted to make sure that, unlike Tumbletots, she understood that Mommy could not be in the dance class with her (3 year old ballet). She has done really well, and on the first day, ran right up to her dance instructor and gave her a big hug (normally she is shy). The last 5 mins of class the parents get to come in and watch a little dance they have learned that day. I think DD will be good at it, because while she (and the other kids) do have to listen for cues from the dance teacher or watch the dance teacher for their next move, my daughter is remembering some of the moves and what leads into what. I picked up on this last week and was impressed.

We have, in the past, done Tumbletots at the Y and she loved that as well. So much, that everytime we pass the Y, she calls out "Mommy, there's Tumbletots."

DD is also in daycare (has been since 13 months -- I am a grad staudent and need tiem to do schoolwork/study) and has her own little group of friends that has followed her for the past few years she's been there. We moved to the city, but kept her in her daycare as my husband still works where we used to live (about 45 mins away). I will be sad if we ever have to take her out of there, because I love her friends as much as she does. I keep asking their parents of her two best friends, if I could take them home, because they are sooo cute.

Wow - I'm amazed you found a preschool with openings! I always had to sign my kids up in the spring!

Congratulations! As a competitive dancer and part-time teacher, I find it awesome that she's starting dance ;) And congrats on the pre-school!
