He's very cute, but we can't keep him! We came home from church this past Sunday, and there he was, sleeping on the front porch. He's housebroken (my lovely DH and DDs allowed him in :furious: ) and quiet and small. Anyone want a dog???? :)

Have you put him in the paper and put up signs, called local vets and shelters? If he's housebroken he probably belongs to someone! Good luck! He is a cutie.

Have you had any luck finding an owner? I bet someone is looking for him! He looks well cared for and if he's housebroken, he's even more valuable to someone LOL!

If you get desperate to find him a home and aren't having luck finding his owners, PM me. I live in Ft Worth as well and would love to help.

(have you taken him to the vet to see if he has a microchip?)

We took him to our vet Monday to have him checked for a microchip, and we put up signs all over the neighborhood. He doesn't have a collar, and we had to de-flea him. I guess the newspaper is our next step. I already have two dogs. My kids are getting way too attached to him! They're calling him "Sparky".

Aimeedyan, were you interested in him for your family or did you know of someone who might like him?

Aw, that just breaks my heart!

He was probably a family pet who somehow got lost. I hate to think that someone just dropped him off in your neighborhood and drove away, but I know it happens.

I hope you can find a loving home for that little guy, he looks like a sweetie! Or better yet, I hope he can be reunited with his owners!

Good luck!

Please ask around your neighborhood, and put up Posters with his Pic! I once wrote on another thread, about how I "kept the dog that wandered in my next door neighbors yard" and said to that poster to keep the dog, and got FLAMED for it Big time! :sad2:

It did cross our minds that he might have been dumped. This neighborhood quickly becomes covered with "lost dog" signs when someone is missing one. He's so sweet though. I can't imagine someone wouldn't find him a home if they couldn't keep him.

I checked two different newspapers for "lost dog" ads. No luck there, either. Poor homeless puppy. He would love to go home with you!!! :teeth:

Awwwww... I love those ears!!!

He's adorable. And housebroken, too. And such a nice, compact size! He looks like a Beagle/Chihuahua mix, maybe. What would that be- a Beahua? A Chigle? Beachi? :rotfl2:

Hmmm... wonder if DH would throw me out if I tried to adopt another dog? :confused3 :teeth:

Let us know if you don't find the owner! Seriously. But don't tell my DH. :ssst:

I hope someone sees the signs we've put out. I'll print some new ones with his picture, I suppose. Sigh.

He's obviously used to being a lap dog. I keep shooing him off the furniture (which he only jumps up on because I'm sitting there).

I'll give him until Monday -- we'll have had him a week by then. I'll keep you in mind if you are serious. Are you in the Ft Worth area?

Man, it'd be hard to say no ;) But we already have two boys and we've sworn off them for awhile! But we can be convinced...

I do have lots of connections in Ft Worth, too, though and am happy to start asking around if you get ready to really say goodbye. He sounds like a great dog for a family!

(why can't you take in this sweetie yourself?)

A good friend of mine found a dog panicking on the freeway. I told her "the universe has GIVEN you this dog". She tried to get rid of it and then realized, it was the best dog she'd ever had.

Maybe the dog knows something you don't. :)

Ok, ya'll. Now quit! I already have TWO dogs!!! I'm doing my part in giving a good home to needy dogs (both are adopted from shelters). A dog in Texas MUST be on heartworm preventative, and it's EXPENSIVE! Plus Frontline to control the fleas/ticks, vet bills, shots, food, etc. If ya'll are taking up a collection so that Elizabeth can keep Sparky.... Well, I'm there.

He looks very much like a Rat Terrier my mom used to have. I am an animal lover, but that was the most miserable creature I have ever encountered. Pooped in the house daily, barked all the time, ate everyones dirty socks & undies, bit my baby DD, ran away constantly, loved being spanked, got hit by a car & just got up & kept on running. Hateful little thing. The shelter Mom adopted her from didn't even want to take her back, said they had too much trouble keeping Rat Terriers in homes.

To the OP: I'm glad "yours" doesn't seem to be like that!

Hey, I think I KNOW that dog!!!!!!!!! I have seen him somewhere, now just have to think where?

No, no, can't be the same dog. At our old house a dog like him just came walking in with the kids one day. He seemed all right until dh came home and found him curled on the couch. Then, he growled at dh. Dh tried to just sweep him off anyway, and he snapped at him. Then I tried and he snapped at me. We called animal control, but before they got there, he started growling and carrying on and came off the couch at us! Dh grabbed the broom and sort of "swept" him out the front door. He then attacked the door repeatedly...........we were going out to eat and we were trapped by this dog! Just before animal control got there, he took off. But, he was an older dog.......this one looks sort of young to me..............also he had darker spots and obviously a worse temper.

I think this one looks like a Corgi/Chihuahua mix.

I still think I've seen this dog though..........maybe just in the neighborhood? What part of Ft. Worth are you in?

By the by, Fort Worthians, our new neighbor's 3 year old orange tabby (ginger) went missing right after they moved in. His name is Cheetoh and he has a red collar. If you see him, PM me.
