Third week of December- crowds? DVC availability?

Has anyone been the week before Christmas? Are they crowds higher than the first two weeks? Also, from your experiences, do I have a better chance getting a nonhome resort this week at 7 months? I have seen the page from drusba on the highest times and have noticed many resorts are already sold out the first two weeks. We love our home resort but are bringing the family down and wanted them to try something different (specifically BLT 2BR any view). We would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!!

December = Book home resort best to try somewhere else a less busy time of year.

crowds are higher overall at wdw as the kids start getting out of school.

DVC demand is lower in the 3rd week of december than it is the first 2 weeks of december but still pretty high. BLT lake view is your best option but i hope you have your home resort booked already just in case nothing opens up.

We've found the week before Christmas is fairly crowded, and gets crowded more and more each day leading up to Christmas week, at which point the parks are crazy crowded. Still an enjoyable time to vacation, but definitely make good use of FP+ if you want to hit the more popular attractions.
