Hello All,

Well I typed this up yesterday and lost it so I'll try it again! Just back from a wonderful 4 night trip to Disney. A little background.

Me - Love Disney, what else can I say?
DH - 1st trip was our HM and he ended up loving it too. Yeah!

This was our third trip and the last two I planned on writing dining reviews because I always love reading them...but that never happened. This time I am ready!

We love to dine around Disney. Last trip we did DXDP and this time around decided to do DDP. Don't get me wrong, we love to eat, but we didn't want as many TS this trip. We ended up leaving some QS on the table so I'm not sure what is better. I wish they had a two TS plan. We like to have a big breakfast and that usually tides us over til dinner, which is how we found ourselves with unused QS credits.

Oh well, enough about that. Here we go!

So we stay at the Beach Club and we love the Captain's Grille buffet breakfast. There never seems to be a wait, at least when we go, and the food is always deelish.

This is a shot of one side of the buffet.

And here is the bread side.

There was a third side I did not get a pic of. They have fresh fruit(as opposed to old fruit), turkey sausage, regular sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries(with or without steak), frittata, eggs benedict, Mickey Waffles, caramel bread pudding(more on this lovely dish later), biscuits and gravy, a variety of breads, lox and hot cereals. Phew I think that covers everything!

On to my plate!

Everything was yummy. No complaints. The scrambled eggs are so tasty and not runny or dry. Eggs Benedict, the egg is cooked perfectly which is tough to find on a buffet. Mickey is always a good waffle. Crispy and fresh. The home fries also were seasoned well and the cheese danish was good too.

This was plate number 2. Fruit was very good but the star here is that caramel bread pudding. Holy cow, is that good. It is just a dense slice of goodness. Sweet but not too sweet. Oh I wish I had some right now.

We did OOP here as we were going to use the days TS credit for the Biergarten later. Buffet comes with coffee and juice. 15.99 pp.

Up next, Biergarten for dinner!

I'm here and I can't wait for more!!! Next time I stay at YC/BC, I am soo going to Captain's Grille for breakfast. Probably OOP. What a great value! :thumbsup2

I am in. Leaving soon for the Beach Club. We've never stayed there so I am looking forward to reading your reviews.

Thanks everyone, glad to have you aboard!:yay:

As I mentioned, the breakfast buffet fills you up so this kept us going until dinner. My sister and nephew happened to be at Disney on this night too so I made a reservation for the four of us at Biergarten!

Now, this is kind of random but to set the tone for this review. Do you know the game on Price is Right, Cliffhanger? When the guy yodels his way up the cliff as you try to guess prices. They play that song yodelehee yodelehee yodeleeheehoooo. Well whenever I think of Biergarten, I get that song stuck in my head. As I'm typing this I have that song in my head. If you don't know what I'm talking about Youtube Price is Right Cliffhanger. Ok sorry for totally going off on a tangent, on to the buffet!

Our seating was at 7 and we probably waited around 10 minutes to be seated. Not a problem though as we were just in time for the show.

If you have kids, I definitely recommend this dinner. They encourage anyone to dance but usually it is the kids and they look so adorable. Kids may not love the food but they'll have a blast.

This was my first plate. I know it looks like a hot mess but there is so much to chose from I was just loading it on. Sooo going from 9 oclock clockwise saurkrat, sausages, braised cabbage spaetzle, potato dumpling, roll, chicken schnitzel, roasted chicken, roasted potatoes, and pasta salad under there somewhere.

P3120042.jpg

It is easier to say what my least favorite was. The roll and the chicken schnitzel. The roll was nothing special, not bad but not worth plate time. They had pretzel rolls but not on my trips up. The chicken schnitzel was a little bland and tough. Their roasted chicken was quite good though.
Oh yeah, and there is some mac and cheese peeking out there too. Not good. Bleck.

Ok, this plate is a little more reasonable.

This time I also have some beet salad as well as a salad with chick peas and lima beans. Light and delicious.

That is dessert to the left on this plate. Apple strudel which was amazing. Tender apples, not too sweet. The other one was a cream cake...maybe. I forget. Nice and light though. Well as light as cream, butter, and sugar can be, but good stuff.

This was DH's dessert plate. Strudel, pear cake and a chocolate cake. I liked the pear cake, it was a nice change from traditional fruit cakes. Chocolate cake was good too. I think the strudel and that cheese cake were the best.

Finally I leave you with a picture of...

My giant beer. I got their Oktoberfest. Very nice. Too big though, I was feeling festive and went for the biggie. Couldn't finish it!

I like the Biergarten. I did enjoy it more as a foursome vs when just be and my DH go. I think the food is great though maybe it is not for everyone(like 11 year old nephews).

Tomorrow we have Chefs De France for dinner and you guessed it, the Captains Grille for breakfast!:woohoo:

Joining in.

I have been considering adding Captain's Grille for breakfast since we'll be at BC for a few days. Thanks for the great pictures and review.

Can't wait for morepopcorn::

great start :thumbsup2 cant wait to try Biergarten in August.

I usually type my reports in word and then copy and paste them to here. The amount of times ive lost loads of work. :thumbsup2

cant wat to hear more.xx:goodvibes

I was just wondering if there was anything for kids? Like a plain hotdog or something like that? It sounds like fun! If you dont mind do you remember how much the big beer was?:drinking1 Since we wont be driving I think Dh and I will need one of those! Great review and pictures:cool1:

Reading along and enjoying the reviews!! LOL at your "hot mess" of a plate. Mine generally look like that @ buffets as well since 1. I never know what to get and 2. I probably won't be getting up again with 3 kiddies to get plates for as well ;)

I didn't see any kid specific items but my nephew did try the chicken schnitzel, some spaetzel and the roll. Some of the sausages are smaller and hot dog looking so I think those could be kid friendly :)

I want to say the beer was $12. I saved all my receipts and of course now I can't find them!! If I find them I'll confirm for you.

Yes, sounds like you definitely have your hands full. But that makes a buffet perfect, just grab and go! :)

Hello Everyone,

So, we are on to Sunday and we started our day off at the Captain's Grille for breakfast.

captainsbfast2.jpg

Ok, yes I cheated and used my first day plate picture but trust me, it looks the same :rolleyes1 I went back for all the old favorites. Busier today but we were able to get a seat within about 5 minutes.

As usual, breakfast carried us to dinner so we are on to Chefs de France. You will see a trend here, we eat in Epcot a lot. Which is why we stay at BC or YC, because we spend so much time in Epcot.

I love the look of Chefs de France. Sure it isn't the most intimate atmosphere, but I think the setting is pretty. Our waiter was adorable and I soon noticed that everyone working in the restaurant was attractive. Men and women, I was thinking hmm...is that on the application, must be beautiful?

With the DDP they offer the entree and dessert or you can get their prix fixe 3 course meal that has three selections for each course. They will count that as DDP too. Sounds like a deal!

First course was a choice of lobster bisque, onion soup or a salad. I opted for the onion soup. In this picture you'll see my soup, the little baguette they give you, my rose wine and a woman's elbow. This gives you an idea of how close the tables are ;)

P3130070.jpg

The soup was good but wicked hot! Holy cow the onions really held the heat. Yowza. It was almost too hot to enjoy and I had to wait a long time for it to cool. Once I was able to eat it I found it delicous, lots of onions, killer hot onions, but lots of them. Typically I see onion soups with a dark broth but this had a nice lightness about it.

DH got the bisque

P3130068.jpg

For the benefit of research I try pretty much everything DH gets. In this case the bisque was quite good. Creamy, nice lobster flavor, nice seasoning.

Next we both got the short ribs.

P3130071.jpg

I love short ribs and these did not let me down. Tender meat, fresh noodles that seemed homemade. Also, there wasn't a lot of sauce, but still there was a lot of flavor. Any Top Chef fans here will know this as "They really let the ingredients speak for themselves".

The other entree choices were a salmon, chicken or mac and cheese.

Dessert had my personal favorite Profiteroles! Choices were this, Creme Brulee or chocolate mouse cake. I would love any of these but I had to go with Profiteroles.

P3130073.jpg

These were great. The chocolate sauce was heavenly and the puffs made perfectly.

After dinner we walked around a bit and I made sure to try a Grand Marnier Slushie. Hmm Hmm good. So refreshing.

P3130078.jpg

DH & I enjoyed our meals (hot soup aside) and would definitely eat here again.

Tomorrow we change it up. No breakfast buffet but 50's Cafe and La Hacienda...til then have a great night!
