Thinking of upgrading to Deluxe Dining

this might be a good way to go. For most of us it is an all or a nothing proposition. We can't do a day here or a day there on the deluxe plan; unless, we go through loops to do so with split stays and so forth and then the park ticket prices kill you for a package deal doing it that way.

It's just like the premium plan and doing it for one night to get all the perks; it can be done. So, in your case I could justify doing two days on deluxe over an 8 day stay especially since you use 4 days to use your 2 days of deluxe plan credits. This is a smart stradegy for you. Infact, I would be doing it every other day; so, I could use 4 days of deluxe across 8 days. That's a bargain!

That's exactly what I thought too! It's a great deal if you can split it up. The only reason we aren't going more days like you suggested is that we are also going to Sea World and didn't want to 'lose out' on meals on our SW day and then we are doing one or two "no-plan" days (my DH's request) and don't want to be tied down to anything, even meals.

We may just hit Kona or Rose & Crown if we can get in...I looked at their prices and they are not "cost-efficient" on the DDP/DxDDP but we do enjoy eating there.
