Thinking of spending 5 days at DL in July

and wondering if I even need a "plan". We'll be checking into our hotel that's right across the street from DLR on a Monday (late morning/early afternoon). We have BB reservations on Tuesday for an early lunch. And we are flying home Saturday afternoon (so no park day on Saturday). That's about as much planning that I've done so far. I still haven't decided if we'll do 4 or 5 days at the parks, yet.

I'm thinking of maybe doing our EE day on Tuesday. Do you have any other suggestions on which days would be best for which park? Which days would be best for the parades?

I do have RideMax, and I hate to say it, but it's really not for me. We have too many people in our group, too many children that need frequent breaks, and we'll probably do alot of splitting up.

TIA

The most important "plan" in my book is to arrive early, and take afternoon breaks when it's hot and crowded.

I do advise not to put things off until you last day, particularly fireworks and Aladdin. Fireworks are sometimes cancelled due to high winds, so make sure your schedule this early in your trip. Aladdin occassionally (although rarely) is cancelled due to "technical difficulties". It's very good; you don't want to miss is.

Don't feel you have to designate specific days for DCA or DL. It's very easy to hop back and forth. I generally start my day at DL (which opens earlier) and hop over to DCA later in the day when DL starts getting crowded. I usually will grab some FPs at DL before I go over to DL to use later in the evening.

I am going the first week in Aug and I have debated over 4 or 5 days in the parks but it only costs about $10 more per person for the 5 day ticket vs the 4 day ticket. We want to go to the beach a few afternoons or at least cool down in the hotel pool. We will enjoy ourselves more if we can take everything at a more relaxed pace, and go for 5 days. I don't like to feel like I must open and close the park each day so I get my money's worth of my ticket. I like to take a break from the heat mid day, or leave the park when I am tired in the evening. I wish I could go 16 hours a day but I don't enjoy things when I'm tired.

We always go to DLR in July. We have been going at the same time for the past 7 years and it works well for us. One day we go to Tomorrowland first, FP Space, ride Buzz then work our way around the park counterclockwise. One day, we go to Adventureland first, FP Indiana, ride Jungle Cruise and Pirates, then go to BTMRR and Splash. But if you have little ones, I would go as early as you can, and go to Fantasyland. Those rides have the longest waits without FP, but if you do them first and early, you'll be okay. Have a blast. We went to WDW this year, so I think our next DLR trip will have to be Christmas or next April or July.

Thanks!

I ended up buying 5 day park hoppers. The last time we were at DL, we went for the "pay for 3 days, get 5 days" special they had. By day 5, even the kids were whining, "do we have to go to DL, AGAIN!!??" lol. But, there's 7 of us going this time, and a couple of the kids are older and can go off on their own, so here's hoping no one is complaining by day 5...lol.

I decided to choose where we will eat lunches and dinners every day, that way, we can meet up at least twice a day with the whole family.

I'm going to definitely plan on the fireworks our first night, and then try to get in a parade each day. We also want to see Fantasmic, so I'll have to plan that into the day.

There are several attractions I've never seen at DLR, so I'm hoping to get all of those in on this trip.

I'll let everyone know how it goes. :)
