Hi,
I got married in florida last Oct and we had loads of photo's taken, I've been looking for a wedding photo album to put them all in but haven't found one I like yet, or that will fit our photo's in we had a larger set than standard, so there still in an envelope, we had some put in an album but it only holds 20 photo's we have more than 100. Last year when we stayed at POFQ I saw some scrap booking albums, paper, cutters, etc, I did buy some cutters, so I thought I might have ago at making my own.

How easy is it, can I see any picture's of photo albums so I know how to place it all, then I can plan it all and buy all the stuff when I go next year.

Is this a good idea.

Thank you.

Love Wendy xxx

Welcome to an addiction! ;) If you're completely new I'd suggest hosting a Cretive memories class (free stuff is good ;) ). Have a look at the virtual scrapbook sticky here, or forums like 2peas where people post photos of layouts. You'll need an expandable scrapbook, or divide the photos into topics for smaller albums. You'll get loads more advice from mroe experienced scrappers, but well done on coming here :thumbsup2 I'm half-way through our wedding scrapbook - only 17 years late:lmao:

Good for you for giving it a go. :thumbsup2 You will love the satisfaction you feel for creating an album of one of your most special days, and at such a special place.

If you have any questions, just ask. We love helping out.

You will need a book that can be expanded, either a post bound album or a strap hinge like the Creative Memories ones, you can add more pages to these.

check out www.twopeasinabucket.com and look in their member gallery. You can click the tag cloud link and then find weddings, that might help.
Here we have the virtual scrapbook that has a lot of pages.

I would suggest choosing 3 colors for your album if you want it to go quickly. I did that with mine and it looks really nice. I added embellishments as I went along, like a cake, birds, quotes, etc....

Sort your pictures in chronological order first, then group them together for each 2 page layout. Now you will have an idea of how many pages you will need and how the layout will look.

If you have any specific questions, just jump in and ask. We are all really helpful!

I did my own wedding album because I couldn't fathom paying what the photographer wanted when I knew I could make a more personal album that was exactly what I wanted for loads cheaper.

I kept it very simple though. I used a post-bound album. First I sketched out the layouts and decided which photos would be grouped together. I used the same patterned background paper throughout the whole book. I matted all the photos onto a single color cardstock. I wanted to include the Bible readings from the ceremony and the song lyrics from the reception so I printed those onto vellum and laid them over a different patterned paper, and used brads to attach them. I did the same for any titles I had. I didn't use a lot of embellishments because I wanted to have the album to have the same look throughout (and I wanted to get it done quickly). I mostly used the proofs (4x6) but a few pages had 8x10 instead. Overall, I'm really happy with how it came out.

can i also suggest seeing as it is your first attempt you do not use your only copy of photos. Use prints. Your style may change so keep it simple and focus on the photos.
also do not cut any photo you do not have a copy of.

the others have given some good advice< i also reccommend checking out two peas for layout ideas although there is so much it may just confuse you.
good luck and remember it is for you, made by you, with love, so it will be perfect.
