Thinking of going, need some help

Okay, in February my DD, mom, and I went to DL. DH was supposed to go, but was waiting for job information for a new job. That never came. He is unemployed, we are trying to sell our home, and found out my dad had cancer. So, basically 2009 has been the worse year of my life so far. Plane tickets are pretty cheap from Seattle to LAX and I am considering a trip 12/25-29. I am trying to find a cheaper, but decent hotel that is either walking, or one a little further away with its own shuttle.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks! I hope to find a way to make this happen before Alaska Air is done with their special!

I am sorry you had such a bad year. I understand Disney therapy.

A few years ago my husband's grandmother died, then my hubby had a bleeding ulcer which required two emergency surgeries and blood transfusions. A couple weeks later our son ended up having an emergency appendectomy. It felt like we had been through a meat grinder emotionally.

We visited "The Land" shortly thereafter to mourn what was lost and to celebrate all the things we had to be thankful for. That was a very special trip.

It sounds like things are really stretched financially for you, so to help make the best suggestion....

How many people are going to be in the room?
Do you need a kitchenette?

I say go but only if this trip will not be an added financial stress for you and your family. If it won't hurt your financially go for it, however only you and your dh know if this trip will "honestly" fit into your budget.....if not then wait, Disney will always be here when you are ready to go.

I totally appreciate that, and I am definitely keeping this in mind. If it would stress us finanially we most definitely will not go. At this point is is more not likely to happen then likely, unless I can find a steal of a deal. Airfare right now is such a steal.

Thank you for your response!

2 adults and a 4 year old. Nope, don't need a kitchenette, but a microwave would be nice, to do maybe oatmeal for bfast, unless bfast is included.

I'd recommend the HoJo, but I think their rates during that time period may be a bit high for you.

Anaheim Plaza is probably the cheapest, yet decent hotel within walking distance. They provide a fridge and microwave.

Del Sol is within walking distance, has a refrigerator and microwave in each room, and a continental breakfast.

Keep in mind that this is during the busiest part of the year, and rates will be high.

With their on-line 20% off promotion, you can get in here for $295 plus tax which brings it to $340.34

Disneyland at Christmas time is magical....and mobbed. It will be VERY packed and prices will reflect that.
