Thinking of going in October

Thinking of going in October...could you experts give me the low-down on all the goings on in October, i.e. golf tournament dates and any other events...big or small. I've got the MNSSHP dates thanks to this board Any help would be great. You guys are awesome!!! Thanks in advance.

We love WDW in October . . our favorite time. Crowds are low-to-moderate, and it's still warm enough to swim.

The Food & Wine Festival is on in October, too. That's a big plus!! If you're not familiar with it, here's a link for info:

Not a golfer, so can't help you with those dates, but I'm sure someone can!!!

Between the new Fairytale pkg, the Canadian Thanksgiving, and Columbus Day weekend, there may be additional crowds. Oh well, guess we'll be part of those crowds!

This is our first Oct also. We normally go at the end of Sept but I wanted to hit MNSSHP. frannn--looks like your going to be there the same time we are. We are staying at OKW and going to MNSSHP 10/10--already got my tickets in the mail!

We will be at WDW October 11 - October 16, then it's on to our first cruise on the Disney Magic! We usually go more toward late October/early November, but since my oldest son will be starting middle school we wanted to go when he will only miss 3-4 days of school.

I am getting the itch to go in October also. I've heard its perfect travel weather. We'll see if our (okay, I mean my) plans work out.

cgcw. . . . The temps in October are great, but the weather can be really fickle. One year it rained every single dayof our trip, ten out of ten days, but two years later we never saw a drop of rain in the same timeframe.

So now we go prepared for rain & hope for the best!!

We love Ocober and have never seen too much rain that time of year, but we don't like the fact that it's cooler. Most people think we're crazy for that, but we like the heat....

The Golf Tourny:

FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort is being held October 20th to 26th. This tourney can cause more traffic and make the hotels more expensive --- and more full. But I've never seen it have a major affect on the parks themselves. A little affect, but it wasn't the mess I thought it would be. I guess most people there for the Tourny are actually at the course watching.
