Ok I like to plan WAY ahead. I plan on going in Aug 2006 I really want the Wl but will take AKL as well but here is what I am thinking

Just making room only ressies then save money up (lots of it) then buy one park ticket at a time for everyone going EXECPT my DD While I am doing this I will also be buying Disney Dollars at my local Disney Store.
Then when it gets closer to the date we go (with in a year of the date) buy my DD a AP. Then call and Change my ressies (hopefully) to an AP rate.
Instead of buying the Sliver plan. Then with all the disnsy dollars I can buy all the food and other stuff we need instead of trying to figure out is a wish has been used to its full value or more. Then I can do what i want when I want and not worry about it. Or br tied down to a package.
And maybe ever save money as well.

Will you even get enough of the disney dollars to cover expences? If yes then sounds like you have a plan.

Sounds like a good plan to me if you are good a saving way ahead. I tend to procrastinate for our trips and then end up having to work way too hard just before our trip (like right now - we go in 2 weeks) to cover expenses. I would start planning for it now if you can. Then by the the time your trip arrives you will be well prepared and have a great time.

As far as AKL versus WL, if you REALLY want WL, I would make sure you get your ressie there. We made our ressie for AKL because we wanted to try something new but ended up switching it back to WL. I've heard wonderful things about AKL though, and I'm sure we would have loved it. It's just that our hearts are at WL. If you think you'd like WL better, I would definitely opt to stay there. You'll be second guessing yourself if you don't.
