We love the pics we've seen of CSR and the reviews most people seem to have, however I'm a bit concerned about bussing and the resort being too spread out and we are considering the POR/POFQ as they are smaller, more compact. We are most likely looking into POFQ because I like the dragon slide for the kids and the whole New Orleans Mardi Gras thing, plus I've heard good things about bussing and the fact that POFQ gets picked up 1st and dropped off 1st at the end of the day. Just wanted some more opinions on POR/POFQ and would love some recent pics of people that have stayed there and hear their experiences and what they thought of it. We are still looking into POLY and AKL as well for a deluxe choice if we go all out but we are still debating that but POR/POFQ is looking like our moderate choice if that is the option we go with. I appreciate all your help:surfweb:

Also, was concerned with the pool area/dig site being refurbished sometime in 2008 and hate to make ressies with this in question because definitely want to spend time in the pool as well.

We have stayed at both POFQ and CSR. We much prefer POFQ because of the small size and general atmosphere. CSR we just didn't care for. However, if you are basing your decision mainly on the bus service, I have to admit CSR had the best bus service of any of the resorts we've ever stayed at. Because they have so many conventioneers, their buses are never crowded. Their big pool is also nice, but a long walk if you are not in the Cabanas. However, the resort is HUGE and we had to deal with drunk conventioneers at the quiet pool. We were in the Casitas section, by the way.

At POFQ the buses just seemed much slower and then the driver would go to PORS, make each stop, and just try to cram more people on. Again though, even with the bus situation, we still prefer POFQ.:confused3

Not sure what your concern is about the busing. CSR has some of the best bus service at WDW. CSR is a large resort but so is POR. POFQ is the only small resort. But what you give up in size, you also give up in amenities.

The bus is more of an issue at the PO resorts than CSR. CSR does share with another resort and the convention aspect seems to keep the pool and buses less crowded.

We have stayed at the POR for the last 2 years and loved it! It is such a beautiful resort with its lush landscaping. If you get a room next to a quiet pool, in the afternoon it is like your own personal pool! I think whatever you choose will be fun for your family.

We have stayed at all 3 resorts, POR, CSR and POFQ. As for the nicest resort, I/we prefer CSR, we are two adults. We just love the atmosphere/theming, food court, pool area, and find the busing to be great! We found that because of the conventioners it seemed a little less busy.

Next choice would be POFQ, yes it is smaller, the pool area isn't as nice for us (2 adults) but for a family it would be good. The theming is nice and the food court is ok. The busing is alright, although can be very busy because of sharing with POR. The buses pick up at POFQ first and then go to POR, when dropping off they drop off at POFQ first also.

If you are a family of 5....POR is awesome! It is a beautiful resort, bus service is OK, same as POFQ except that you are not picked up or dropped off first. The pool area is OK, very busy with families!

You know, lots of people can write different things about their own experiences, and what keeps one person happy may not keep someone else happy. Also, sometimes there might be other circumstances that play a roll in what happens with the bus service to ANY resort, values, mods and deluxes! Both DH and I relax when we are on holiday, waiting for the bus really isn't a biggie to us.....that being said, if we had two tired and cranky kids in tow we might change our toon! For some reason when we took our kids to WDW we never really had a problem with them being tired and cranky...thank goodness!

All three resorts are nice and I can't imagine anyone being that unhappy at any of them. The bus service is good for all, enjoy your holiday!

We stayed at POFQ last year, and are returning again in the spring. The theming appealed to us more that at CSR. We never had a problem with the buses. Most importantly, at the end of a long day we were a mere steps away from our room. This is VERY important to us, having 2 little kids.

We have decided to stay there again for our upcoming trip based on a few things. Compactness of resort, our kids LOVED the dragon pool, boatride to DDD.

We were at the POFQ in October and LOVED it. Everything is close to every building. After a long day at the parks, that is really important.

Here are my pics of the resort from October:

Thanks for the pictures! We were trying to decide where to stay for a couple of days before moving to AKL. We were going to stay offsite, and then got a PIN...were offered CSR, POR, and POFQ. We chose POFQ because of its size. Love the look of the theming! Looking forward to our stay!

I've stayed at all 3 and like POR best for the atmosphere.
The busses can be good or hit and miss at all 3.
POFQ dragon slide is fun for small children but kind of lame for about 6 or older (MHO) and I really dislike the Mardi Gras theme at POFQ food court; the grounds are beautiful.
CSR is the most spread out, but when we stayed there this past Jan. there were constant golf cart shuttles going around the resort and we never had to actually walk all the way to or from the main bld. There was a sign about the shuttles outside the Pepper Market but I didn't read the details.
Since we like all 3 resorts we usually go with the one where I can get a discount.

POR is just as large and spread out as CSR. If size is your main concern, then POFQ is the only choice.

If your children are older than 6-7, they would like the CSR dig site pool slide much better than the dragon pool at POFQ. Our then DD8 (now 12) said the dragon pool was for "little kids" and LOVED the CSR slide.

I also agree the bus service at CSR is better. We stayed at PORS and felt the service was sub-par at best.:sad1:

We've stayed at all 3 resorts--CSR, POR, and PO-FQ. FQ is our favorite based largely on its compact size, but we found everything else there to be satisfactory.

We're probably in the minority on this, but one thing we REALLY disliked at CSR was the food court. Frankly, we thought it was horrible. On a short trip, it wouldn't matter much, especially if you're in the Cabanas or Ranchos since the food court is such a hike from there, you won't want to use it so much. We have found that on longer trips, the use of the food court is necessary. That's one reason we'd never stay at the Wilderness Lodge again for a long trip--another awful Disney food court.

On the plus side, CSR is a gorgeous resort and the Dig Site is awesome. Like I said above, I would personally consider it only for a 3 or 4 night stay.

We LOVE the POR. It's beautiful, convenient, love the busses, the pool...I can't think of one bad thing to say about it....

Good luck!
