Thinking of changing my screenname

My DH never posts here, so it should really be just be Steph. But that would be boring. Not that ChrisnSteph makes it any more exciting, but at least it didn't feel so.....nekkid. But if I change it, then I would lose my tags. I would become a newbie again. And what would I change it too? Maybe I should come up with new names and do a poll....but I can't think of anything! Has anyone here changed their screename, just because?? I'm having an identity crisis!

I wouldn't worry about it. Every time I read your posts, I can usually tell it's Steph, rather than Chris. You have your own style of writing (I always say one's writing style is like their DNA) and it comes through. People know who you are, and even know you well enough to email you and PM you with their personal financial info. You wouldn't want to lose that, would you?

Yeah, that would be a shame now, wouldn't it? Actually, I don't think I'm that well-known. I think I fly under the radar, even with over 3700 posts! I'm just like I was in high school - not the geek, but not the one anyone paid too much attention too either!

Go for it, just keep the same pic in your signature for awhile so people recognize you. I'm sure if you asked the tag fairy could move the tags to your new name.

I think I know how you feel. My old screen name was mom of 2 girls and I thought it was boring. My DH dared me to change it to my present name and whilst our friends have ruthless fun calling me Darth Cupcake, I thought hey, why not?

I don't know though. I like your screen name. And you don't fly under the radar. There are certain people I like reading and your name is very recognizable. If you do change it, let us all know because I enjoy reading your posts.

I keep thinking of changing my name, too. Just because I think mine is really lame. I don't have to worry about tags, but I also don't want to start over at a zero post count, so I keep putting it off. Of course, if I'd done it when I'd first thought of it, I'd probably have 500 posts on that new name by now.

If you want to change it, change it. Like someone said, keep the same pic and everyone will know it's you. You'll get tagged again before you know it.

I have looked at your site and pictures of RYAN and Steph, what a absolutely beautiful baby! The pictures are fabulous and such keepsakes and memories you will always have just looking and gazing at those daily! SWEET!

I say keep your name but just change your picture so it is just you and not your husband. Add something girly like a glitter name beside your picture and you will be okay. Its almost like getting a tattoo instead of changing your name.

I'm not sure what Rayne means to you, but I'll give you my background with that name. I live across the street from Rayne Memorial Methodist Church.

My very first college date was to go to church there. We were not allowed to date or to go off campus (I am old) during orientation weekend except to go to church. So a really cute Tulane football player with a convertible asked me to go to church, and then we went to lunch at the Ponchatrain Hotel. Not bad for a first college date.

Also my college English teacher for two years was Fannie Rayne Russ. She'd been dead for decades so I feel that it is okay to use her name. She was ancient even back then. I remember on beautiful spring days wanting to look out the window and how she made us all look at her as she lectured. And yes it was her family that founded that church 130 years ago. It was a women's college, and she would say "Girls, girls look to the front."

You and Chris look a little like Rob and Amber in that photo....more you than him but him by association I guess.
