Thinking of canceling Le Cellier

It's not that I don't want to go there, I just think I will be too frazzled to enjoy it. My plane arrives at 10:30ish on Sunday 9/26 and my reservation is for 3 PM (which is way earlier than I wanted, anyway). We (my sister and I) could probably get there in time but the more I think about it, the more I just don't feel like stressing myself out. Would I be making the right choice by canceling?

You are wise to remember that you are supposed to be on vacation!! It's supposed to be fun and as stress-free as possible.

If getting there by 3 just seems like a headache, then cancel and perhaps choose another restaurant for a more normal dinner time. Epcot has wonderful choices! Just check out the menus and after you cancel Le Cellier, make another ADR.

For what it's worth, we like to chill on arrival day also just in case we had any stressful travel issues. I love the idea of checking in and chilling by the pool with a beverage of my choice! Then head out to a park for a yummy dinner and a casual walk around the park. Really sets the tone for the whole trip!

Have fun choosing another restaurant!

I would say cancel it. You never know if there will be issues with your flight. Last year we had to make a unplanned landing in Atlanta because our plane had some radar malfunction. We arrived to Disney 3 hours late.

But then again this is coming from someone who has had ADR's every year for there and always cancelled, so I have never actually eaten there to know what you will be missing.

How late in advance do you need to cancel a ADR? is it possible to keep the ressie and see if you can make it based on how the day is going? I don't know if its frowned upon to cancel the day of.:confused3

Oh dear!!! I shudder at the thought of canceling a reservation at Le Cellier...YIKES. But, you know what is best for you. If you will be stressed, try to make another reservation. I would keep the current reservation, call Disney and see if anything else is available. If so, change it. If not, hold it.

Can you tell I love Le Cellier?

Thanks for the responses! I'm seriously considering canceling and going with Marrakesh instead. I can get a 6:40 PM ressie and I do love my shish kebab!

You will have more than enough time to get to your resort, check in, and make the reservation, probably with an hour to spare!

The only reason you wouldn't make it is if your flight got delayed.

Instead of cancelling , why not keep checking to see if you can get a later ressie perhaps, times open up all the time especially around the 45 day before mark...just a thought

I would keep it. But I just LOVE the mushroom filet there! You most likely will have plenty of time to get there and even if your a little late I don't think they'll mind.

That's a good idea, too! Decisions, decisions :surfweb:

As a recent 'convert' to Le Cel, I would advise NOT missing the Mushroom Filet...

I think you will have lots of time to get there. Most of the time you can't check into your room until 3pm anyway.

I wouldn't cancel it. It doesn't require a CC hold so there isn't a penalty for no show. Cancel it at the resort if you know you won't use it.

Go with your gut feelings. We had an adr for 7:00 with a 4:00 hour flight arrival, and we were delayed. We didn't get to our hotel until late, and I was a nervous nelly, so anxious to get to that darn adr, in our case O'hanas. In the end once we checked in the hotel staff were able to rebook our adr for a later time, so it all worked out, but it could have gone the other way and we could have been sol! Myabe you can get Le Cellier on another day, or another trip. It will give you another reason to plan a disney return trip:rotfl:!
