Hi just a quick note we are thinking of buying resale and a place called us back are these web sites do you think they are ok? I need someone to answer back :wave2:

Pat at the timesahre store is very easy to work with, very secure, friendly, informative.

Without knowing the place it's impossible to say if it's okay or not. If it's the sponsor of this site or one of the others that is well known on these boards, they are outstanding.

My wife had the same reservations as you.

Before we went forward, the two of us called the agent in question -- the sponsor of this site -- and had a lengthy phone conversation about how it operates, the company's history, etc. We were impressed, and my wife was greatly reassured. (The agent even suggested we contact the Orlando Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce if we had any further doubts, and said they'd be happy to meet with us in their office if we'd prefer to do it that way.)

We were sold. And, with luck and a few prayers, so is the property we're trying to buy! :goodvibes

Thank you for responding to me. I just got nervous to send a lot money to something I never heard of and not seeing. So if they are a sponser does that mean they own this site? :confused3

own it...........no.........they sponser it........they steal money from future DVCers to pay to help recruit more souls............ONLY KIDDING GUYS..........I have used them to and they are wonderful............

I bought both my resales from The Timeshare Store. There are other companies that are also just as good. I'm sure that others will chime in soon ;).

Bongo, I must sound so stupid to you. All of this is so new. We wre going to buy on site but saw that the same money that we were to sped you can get more points i dont care were my home base is

not at all...........but i do think buying a resale to save money is smart...........

cherie, relax. Everybody here was new to DVC at some time - well, maybe not Dean or Doc ;). Please feel free to ask questions - we're usually a pretty helpful group of people; sometimes we just get a little playful.

As for sponsoring, my guess is that The Timeshare Store pays some $$$ to the DIS folks and gets the "Official Sponsor" rights - and that nifty banner right up at the top. There have been a lot of people who have used TSS and had great things to say about them.

Good luck!

You may want to reconsider not caring which resort you buy into if you vacation over Christmas, New Year's Eve, Spring Break, Food and Wine Festival or the first couple weeks of December. Do not assume that you would be able to get into the resort of your choosing (or any resort at all if you wait too long) at the 7 month mark. For instance, if you want to be at BWV or BCV over F&W so you can walk to Epcot, you may have problems booking a room at the 7 month mark if you own at Vero Beach.

I was going to buy at SSS then saw on the resale list that I could get OKW for thirty more points for the same money I was going to get at SSS I just want not to worry about a room and have kitchen for my kids and eat dinner in if we choose. So I am not picky :earboy2: :earsboy:

Then look at OKW resales. It sounds like that is right for you. Lower number of points per night and a lower overall cost per point. And on top of that, OKW often has availability when the other resorts don't.

Many of us have purchased resale (including me) and it is very easy to do.

Remember that use year has nothing to do with when you can go or when you can make a reservation. If it is an October use year, you can use those points any time between October 1 and September 30 of the following year. Or you could bank them to the following use year, or borrow them to use sooner. There is no need to change your usual plans unless you really want to.
