Thinking of buying HHI.....

Thanks Cruise-o-matic...I will be interested in how you fair. Pixie dust for getting what you want. :wizard:

Just finished booking our December stay at BCV studio. I called at 9am day-by-day for Dec 10-13 (Sat-Mon nights). I used points for Sat night b/c we banked 196 out of 200 points and will get 200 more Dec 1. We'll be flying in late on Friday night, so I didn't see a need to waste points for that.

When I called 2 weeks ago to bank our points, I inquired about availability for my dates and MS told me there were no studios for VWL.

I'll be booking again in November for our June stay, I'm going for a BCV 2 BR for 5 nights. We'll see how that goes.

But so far, :wizard: , our decision to buy HH seems to be going OK.

Cruise-o-matic,
Great news!!!!! That makes me feel so much better!! :cool1:
As soon as we close & are in the system, I am going to be trying to book a BWV or BCV studio for Jan 6 & 7 & Vero Beach Inn room for 8 & 9, as we are hoping to do the 1/2 marathon. Hope I have as easy a time as you did.
Thanks for letting me know how you did.

I also bought HH for the lower matinance fees..We are leaving for HH next Sunday..It is so awesome there, you will never be disapointed..We also love the Boardwalk and had never had a problem getting in.

My worry is that if we become attached to BCV, the first time we can't get in, we'll have to own there too :teeth:

I'm glad I called day by day b/c it looks like the studios are all gone now.

Jdubbs, if you bought resale like us, the MF's are really only $3.88 b/c of the credit from '04 (for overestimated taxes). That's only $.03 more than OKW and $.05 more than SSR.

Have a great time jdubbs...we just got back for vacation in Hilton Head on May 8---next time we are there, it will be Disney's resort though. Woo hoo. :cool1:

I am glad we are on our way to being members.
Can't wait to make my first reservations. :Pinkbounc

Hello... We own at Hilton Head and like you we mostly travel on the "off" times... We never had a problem with the 7 month window but that doesn't mean it can't happen...

But... like TW1 said - it's hard to get into Hilton Head if you want to for the summer months.

My husband bought ours as a surprise to me so I guess he didn't follow the advice of buy where you want to vacation - but it has worked out for us.... I say go for it!

Good Luck!

Our contract is with Disney now.......waiting for FROR to pass.
I am so excited & can't wait to make my first ressies. :cool1:
Thanks everyone for all the encouragement & kind words. :disrocks:

You will find great information and great people on the boards. I found this board years ago and at that time I didn't have a computer at home and would only go on at work -- well, I lost touch for awhile because they took internet access away from some of us at work. I had to wait to get a computer at home before I was able to check out the site again!

The DIS board is great...!

Glad to hear you are joining the family.... I wish I had the money to add on more points. Oh well....

We are leaving for HH this Sunday!
Good Luck!

:sad2: Oh my gosh, I never even thought about that........good lord. I've heard it's pretty hard to get into in the summer & stuff, so why would they sell it?????????????Please, someone tell me this isn't really a possiblity. :sad2:
Melanie - While in the realm of possibility, this is really EXTREMELY unlikely to happen, so please don't worry about it.

I was told by afew people that Hilton Head is hard to get into with a 7 month window for the summer.... I don't know if it's actually true though. Since you are buying at HH then I doubt you would have a problem going there for the summer months.

We are leaving for HH on Sunday -- I see you said you were just there...
Do you have any restaurant recommendations?

Thanks!

Tanya,
I've been to Hilton Head lots of times & we actually just got back May 8th.

Here are some restaurant suggestions:
Marley's Island Grill on Greenwood Drive right before you go into Sea Pines is a great place to eat. Wonderful seafood & great atmosphere.
Signes's on Arrow Road off Palmetto Bay road is a great place for breakfast & baked treats. Key lime pound cake to die for & blackberry french toast for breakfast c sausage & fruit. Yummy!
The Wreck of the Salty Dog in South Beach Marina village is a great place to eat lunch overlooking the marina. This is in Sea Pines as well.
Truffles in the Sea Pines center is a must do for dinner for us every year too.

Have fun, there are so many wonderful places to eat.

Melanie :)
