Thinking of becoming a DVC member

I just want to start by saying these boards a wonderful!

I started browsing the boards when we booked our Cruise (We leave on the Magic on March 27th).

We started to dicuss plans for DH's 40th B-day in August. We have 2 DS's (10 & 8) and we kept coming back to a mini vacation at WDW. This finally resulted in us discussing DVC. We went on the sales tour back in 2000 when we stayed at the Disney Institute. We almost purchased then but we weren't sure if it was "cost effective". Looking back on it we probably should have done it then.

We are both excited about SSR. Since we stayed at Disney Institute back in 2000 we are familiar with the lay out and like the fact the it is a little secluded from the other parks and so near to DTD. When we were their, we used the bus transportation a lot and were very satisfied with it (We were ther for 2 weeks in mid June).

We are thinking of going for 5 days in August (As I said above for DH's b-day) and then again in 2005 for Spring Break.

Thanks to these boards and all the wonderful information, we are going to call on Monday and get the ball rolling. We are very excited and can't wait!!

As you probably know most of Disney Institute has been demolished, although the spa is there.

SSR used the infrastructure that was already in place.

You're right this is a great location...very close to Downtown Disney. I can't wait to see it when I visit Disney in August.

You wont go wrong with that decision. We love DVC! We like you looked into DVC in 2000 then decided we couldnt afford it. 1 year later we re-explored it and purchased at WLV(after the pts went up).
No regrets here at the Whitesell camp. We are making our third DVC trip in 1 week and will be going back in Oct. No way we could have done that financially if it werent for DVC.

Well we did it. We called DVC today and bought 225 points at SSR. Just waiting for the paperwork

We will be visiting our new home Aug 25 - 29.
