Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of adding on. We currently have 360 points. We love to cruise and have discovered that 360 is just not covering it. Any one out there who loves to use dvc for cruises who has input please feel free to respond. I would love to see how it worked out for you! I have two in BLT and 1 AK. Not sure if its worth buying the BLT because we plan on cruising???
Any input appreciated!!!

As you will find out, most people will say that using points for cruising is not the best use of points. We have cruised on points twice and we're happy we did, but it sounds like you want to primarily use points for cruising; that might not be a wise choice for your money.

You can always pay cash for one passanger and points for the other passanger.

If you really only want some new points for cruising, then I would go for the lowest price.

Through Disney, I think you can still get OKW for only $90/ppt. Of course, you can also get points via the resale market which would save you money.

However, with the rumor that resale points could have some restrictions, it may or may not be worth the savings when cruising is your main goal.

Good luck!

Adding on points for cruising isn't the best use of your money. But if you did I would suggest buying the cheapest place.....OKW.....
Happy planning:goodvibes

I would add on at SSR, with resale prices at $70 or less... the 2054 contract ending is closer to the BLT & AKV contracts than OKW.

As you've probably seen by now, under the new guidelines that DVC plans to incorporate, any resale contracts that CLOSE after 20 Mar 2011 can't be used to pay for a Disney cruise among other things. Resale contracts that close by that date or that have been purchased previously will be grandfathered with no loss of trading out options. Obviously, that change may play a part in your buying strategy. ;)

I'd hurry through the resale process and get a closing done prior to 3/20/11. Or, if you don't care about being able to use Disney Concierge or Adventure collections - wait until after 3/20 to see what happens to resale prices. They may shift down some.
