Thinking of adding nights? Rack Rate??!!

Okay heres the deal -- I am thinking of adding 3 nights to the back end of my trip. Were scheduled to arrive 9/25 and check out on 10/2. I took full advantage of the 35% off room only rate for those dates, as we were flexible with our travel dates (just as long as were on the DlxDP and the F&W festival will be happening when were there, which both are in place).

My question is, should I wait for discounts to come out for those extra dates, because after 10/1 there are no discounts. Would it be possible to switch resorts and spend three nights at a deluxe? UGH! Disney planning fever, IVE GOT IT FO' SHO!

You are going the same dates as DH and Myself, originally we were going 9/26-10/2 but decided to add 9/25 to the beginning while the discount was still available. We would rather extend our time at the end of the trip but like you mentioned no discounts after 10/1.
From what I have found out , you will need to book a separate reservation if you wait to see if any discounts come out for 10/2 and beyond.

As of right now you can add on as many days as you want to the end but they will be at rack rate but it will all be one reservation.

You can always do a split stay and do the 3 nights at a deluxe if you stay at your current resort after makeing a new reservation, that is assumeing discounts come out, you may or may not have to change rooms but you will need to check in for the second reservation.

If you do end up doing 2 reservations make sure if you are buying park tickets to add the extra days onto your first reservation and do the second reservation as room only as it will be cheaper that way

I think we will be passing on adding days to the end of our vacation even if a discount comes out since DH does not want to take the chance of having to change rooms

There is a discount pin out there that would allow you to add the dates you are wanting under one reservation. I received this pin via email, then in the mail and was told about it when I called to check prices on our hopeful trip. Unfortunately we can use the code as our trip would begin Jan 1 or 2, 2012. That pin is everywhere for me, so hopefully I will get one I can use for our trip later this year.

Maybe you can call and see if you might have that pin and you might have a better chance of getting it if there is a way to call like you are making a new reservation. If not keep calling, I have had luck in the past by just calling and letting them know I knew a pin was out there, took a few times but it worked.

I have too tried everything since it includes our original dates 10-23, I am so frustrated, first i changed to FD and changed my dates to 9/29 to 10/6 which was the public offer out there then I changed our dates to 9/26 to 10/2 to take advantage the %off promo when that was made available, I called to check just last week and still no pin. Maybe if and when they put out a new public offer I can change my dates back to end of October.

OP just wondering what you decided to do. DH rec'd a pin finally by snail mail 20% off Dec 1-22 , no good for us

So the other day we decided to add one more day to the beginning of our trip and we waited too long there was no availability so I did book one night at the end at full rack rate , but I am just afraid if I keep waiting for a pin or discount there will be no availablility for the dates I want. I would love to extend our trip a bit longer but at rack rate we no can do
